Rating on mouthshut acts as the most crucial & vital thing which actually decides how good or how bad the product it. But this is actually in the hand of Raters who rate this. Well actually people have their own views. Some will have the positive views and some will have the negative views on the products.
But with mouthshut I have come across some good profiles who support most of the time.They give Positive Ratings like "Very useful" & "useful" for products they liked and never give negative rating for the products they don't like. Instead they sometime mention it in the comment on why they might not like the product.!
But there are some people/profiles, I have come across here, who are also always defensive.
Always so jealous of others who are constantly awarded ROD and become Star Writers. They think that they write like journalists and will earn them RODs or respect for what they write with high English Standards but forget the actual guidelines of mouthshut.
And also forget that Review is not about "language", Its all about how you present it and how your review makes most of others understandable. I have also noticed those Jealous People(Names Withheld), they never give positive rating on the product reviews from people they don't like and only focus on Negative ratings, no matter how good or useful the review is!
For instance, I have come across this Rude Person(Name Withheld/confidential), who still even today criticizes many star writers. Though I have written over 100 reviews, he only picks up some of the review which he doesn't like and gave only negative ratings and started to criticize those review. But he never responded at any of those good/positive reviews I wrote! This is called Jealousy. He always complaints with mouthshut about others incapability but forgets his own capability! Uh.
But on the other hand, i too have came across this another person(name withheld), who not only gave me & others negative ratings for some reviews he did't agree but also gave positive ratings for many Reviews which he liked. This is called as generosity and true smooth user of Mouthshut. If there a mistake on my review, he sends me a private message stating that message respectfully and I then correct it immediately!

What I usually do is, If I don't like the review, either I don't respond, otherwise I will give a comment stating my negativity. But only give negative rating if its genuine and give a genuine reason for it in the comment.
People here should think for one or more times before giving a rating and never rate on a products reviews just because they don't like the product or don't like the person. If they happen to give a negative review, its most welcome, but they should also provide a Genuine reason which should be a generalized one in comments, which will actually help others.
The Rating should only be related to particular product and never on the person.
" I never write my reviews to earn any ROD. I only write reviews to help others ".
" I Never Rate a Review just because I don't Like the product or person. I rate the review or not only when I agree or disagree with the review which has a genuine reason ".
Verdict - Rating for product in Mouthshut is Vital but Rating it with most care and analysis, "is always healthy for mouthshut".
