How do i rate?. Review on Rating Reviews on MouthShut

We all write on MOUTHSHUT coz we want our work(reviews)to be appreciated and liked and RATING is a sort of encouragement for us b'coz it helps us write better and improve the quality of our reviews.So as important it is to write it is to rate, for us and for other people.As much as I want my reviews to be rated, I love reading and rating other people's reviews also coz by doing so we are appreciating their efforts.

MY THOUGHTS ON RATING

I think its very important that we should be honest while rating.My criteria for rating a review is purely on how well it is written with a sincere effort and then it doesn't really bother me who has written it.The other most important thing while rating according to me is that we should try to see the review from the writer's point of view and not whether we agree with or not, as long as the review is written well and the writer justifies his point it should be rated accordingly.I also do not believe in Revenge rating, if a person gives my review a low rating I go on and do the same to his\her review.That is not a done thing.I think rating a review is very important but do not do so coz you have to, just be fair and honest coz your ratings are making the other person decide and helping you write better.

HOW DO I RATE?

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I give HR to all those reviews which are written well and with a purpose to help the other person reading it.Now I have started paying a lot of attention to grammer, use of English, humour and most importantly reviews that are written with a personal touch coz it makes the review so much more interesting(this is all that I have learnt writing on MS).So basically I give HR to those reviews which impress me in totality.And yes, length is not my criteria for rating a review.your review may be short but be complete in all aspects.So there.

RECOMMEND

I give R to those reviews which are good but could have been better.The reviews which have been  unnecessarily made long to get a good rating but are not exactly informative.So I recommend those reviews which are good but  not good enough and where I feel the writer has the flair for writing and can do definitely better.

SOMEWHAT RECOMMEND

I SR those reviews when I feel the writer is not very sure about what he has to write or what he has written.The reviews which have been written just for the sake of it and is not helping the person reading it in any way.

NOT RECOMMEND

I hate giving NR to any review coz I do not like to discourage people for what they have written.But some times you are bound to give a NR and I NR those reviews which are written under wrong category and have absolutely no relevance to the topic the person is writing on.I also do not recommend those reviews which hurt the sentiments of any person reading it and also reviews which are copied from other sites.I just hate that.But I think its very important that we leave a comment when we are not recommending a review coz the reviewer must know where he\she went wrong and how he\she can improve upon it.

This is how I rate other people's review on MOUTHSHUT.Everyone has their reasons behind giving a rating to a review, so whatever it is just be fair and honest while rating.And yes, in the first place do not forget to rate.
