This is an open letter for everyone who writes reviews on this website.
In my opinion, which might be completely incorrect, this website is for people who are about to buy a product or a service and look up this website for advice/help. There are many websites on the web that I have used before buying things. The reviews have been short as well as long. But the content of the matter was that the reviews were rated after the person bought the product after reading and found the review helpful. It was a process of reading...buying...rating.
This website has a different protocol it follows. People rate the reviews on the basis of colourful language, prolific details and the length of the written text. This is not a story writing competition, the topic of which is given to us.
Particularly, a case in example, I wrote two reviews which have been commented upon by a person in CANADA saying the reviews were too short and hence she rated them down. The reviews were on a doctor I used to work with before I left for the US and another on VSNL.
Tell me dear : How do YOU justify telling others in the world that what I have written is not worth their time, if you do not fit into the same social context or environment?
I reviewed on YOKO sizzlers: Someone left a comment saying whats the DAMN CUISINE? Then went on to say its a steak house. I have had steak every week in the last 2 years here in US. Lived in texas for 6 months. Have never seen anything been served in YOKO’s which looked like steak. have you had REAL steak ever? It hurts me by someone saying DAMN....its a cuss word from the part of world I come from. I dont want to be cussed at for writing that YOKO’s has great chicken shashlik.
Anyways... Anyone is free to comment and rate this review. Infact I would love to make this review an open discussion.
Im not reacting to my reviews being down rated but saying that I would not feel comfortable using this website knowing how reviews are rated here.
