My experience at Ranthambore was fantastic even though I was unable to sight the big cat on the prowl at fort inside the park. It’s been said that the tigers are at the best at Ranthambore and I do believe in the same as the habitat is perfect for the tiger but its heart break when you go on a safari at Chidikho zone declared as Zone 7 by the park authorities. The habitat is not suitable for a tiger and the authorities on the website are misleading people about the presence of tigers T34 & T8 which is shocking. Here you can hardly see 2 or 3 Sambar & Chittals forget about the Big Cat.
The zone is full of rocks and water is scares. The authorities are least bothered about bluffing people on this. The moment you say I have a safari booking at Zone 7 the localities say there are no tigers and believe me I have checked this with not less than 30 people and reaction was same from all. Coming next toward the booking of the safari, it is fully controlled by the private hotels and you cannot even book it on the National park website and the charges for the safari booking is as mentioned by your agent which is almost all the time double the cost.
I request everyone to join hands and bring this to the notice of the people who can take effective measures.
