NOT A VERY IMPRESSIVE MOVIE. Review on Rangoon

The trailer of this movie was very interesting and the maker of this movie gave us the hint about the love triangle but when I watched this movie it fails to impress its audiences. It starts with a good tone but lacks in its story telling and narrating skills. The story begins at the second world war and shows us the conflict between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Gandhiji's approach to get the freedom. Here we first saw a contemporary movie star Julia and the owner of that production house Rustom(Rusi). These two people initially loved each other and they acknowledged their affair publicly though Rusi was a married man and also had a 7/8 year old boy. At that time British army was fighting with Japan in Burma(Myanmar) and in this period Major General David Harding who was a good friend of Rusi requested him to take Julia to the camp of British army in Burma for entertaining their soldiers. Rusi at first tried to deny the general but he forced him to do that. And Rusi didn't tell a word to Julia about this arrangement and when she learnt about it she became angry with Rusi but somehow he managed to convince her. But when they all boarded on the train Rusi got the news about his father's heart attack so he left behind and went back to home to see his dying father. When he reached his house, he realised that his father made the whole plot to stop him. Then we introduce with Jemader Nawab Malik who was appointed as a personal security guard of Miss Julia. And here we see some funny scenes with them. Up To this part the story was going smoothly but the course changes when they all crossing the river with boats the japanese started to bombing on them and here they destroyed all the boats and Miss Julia and Nawab Malik also gone missing. I will not tell the whole story here because it will then destroy the suspense. I think the casting of each character is quite good and I especially like the acting of Nawab Malik( Shahid Kapoor) and Miss Julia( Kangana Ranaut). Saif ali Khan also matched with their performance. The songs of this movie is not very appealing and you will not want to hear those songs again after listening. Music would have been better according to me. Action sequences are not that great and it is kind of average. Loose plot, lack of good music are the main reasons which make this movie pretty below standard. Though if you like Kangana Ranaut then you can definitely watch this movie because she performed her role quite well. My rating for this movie is 5.9 out of 10. So if you want to see a thriller and well constructed movie then this should not be your choise.
