We visited Udaipur recently and stayed at Rang Niwas palace hotel. Its located in the city with easy access to all the tourist spots in this city of lakes. This hotel was once a palace built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in the 1800s and is now managed by the Uncle of the present Maharaj, and his family.Maharaj Arjun Singhji who is respectfully called 'Hukum' takes personal care of the place and all the guests. His family is also actively involved in running the hotel efficiently. He is an extremely nice and humble person and he made our stay there a pleasurable experience. The rooms are comfortable and packed with heritage furniture which makes one live in the Mewar era. It is surrounded with greenery, a quaint small swimming pool and even a tree house. Its spick and span and the restaurant is OK. Hukumji along with his charming grand-daughter down to Tinkabell are wonderful hosts and I do recommend readers to stay in this hotel in the midst of history.
