Rakesh Prakash Mehra has done a stupendous job. Be it the work of photography in the movie, screenplay, performance of actors or anything – you name it – it's brilliant. The style of screenplay is amazing. It's actually of Beautiful mind, Sixth sense types. The humour is rib tickling and too realistic. Actually it does remind one of Dil Chahta hai. I'd say it only subscribes to that genre of humour but is unique in its own way. If you wanna hear only one word about the word it's simply this – BRILLIANT.

The style of screenplay uses a lot of allegories and metaphors which is seldom used in movies. More like what Shyamalan says – the movie should leave a lot to the viewer to conclude for himself. The message is implicit than explicit. The main theme is quite explicit and i'd say is somewhat over-loaded. Rakesh Mehra builds the movie step by step filled with funny anecdotes. One kind of keeps wondering why so much of unrelated events criss cross themselves. But he brings it all together and ties it in one shot which hits you so hard leaving you gasping for breath. This impact that the movie gives is impossible without an ingenous and innovative screenplay.

One should obviously mention A.R.Rahman. Boy, is he something more than a maverick?? One person who amazes me so much. It is next to impossible for any other music director in India to achieve his position in the near future. I am sure if any big name in any industry would like to make a path-breaking movie he would be making a huge blunder if he makes it without ARR. He does have the midas touch. Not only does his music keeps the box office ringing it also plays a central character in the movie. It says stuff which the characters couldn't have said or expressed even with words or emotions.

Another major plus to the movie is the camera. It does plays havoc in some scenes but does become a prism that separates all perspectives of the characters and a lens that converges it.

All heavyweight actors have played their roles to perfection. I'd even rank Rang de basanti to the likes of Black, Dil chahta hai and better than lagaan (probably?!@#!@#)

It has been a worthy wait to watch Aamir khan play such amazing roles so casually. He easily pulls off a strong punjabi accent with ease. Except the comical of the lost in the group, everyone else get mixed in the crowd than stand out.

An amazing movie to be reckoned with for years to come. Jai hind!!!!
