First thing first, this is no Aamir Khan movie (He is not the only lead hero in this movie), rather there are five leading heroes of this movie. I have watched such a good movie after a long time and yes I can call it a ''True inspirational movie''. After watching the movie, I was spellbound for some time, then I analyzed the movie and to my surprise I couldn't find any better way for putting this concept in the form of a movie. This movie puts many questions in front of today's generations, brings out lots of illegal matters we are aware of but don't want to be close to them. Jingoism is the theme of the movie but has been shown from today's point of view.

About the movie: Sue (Alice Payton) comes to India to make a documentary over Indian freedom fighters, since she is short of money, she looks for some college guys to work in her movie along with her Delhi based friend Sonia (Soha Ali Khan) who is engaged with Ajay (R Madhavan). During this time Sue comes to meet these 4 folks DJ aka Daljeet (Aamir Khan), Sukhi (Sharmaan Joshi), Aslam (Kunal Kapoor) and Karan (Siddhartha). She decides to take all these characters to act in her movie and the Indian freedom movement moves from early ninteenth century to eary twentieth century. After making the documentary what happens is worth spending some money in theatre.
Characters & Performances: I cant compare whose acting was the best in the movie, all of them (specially the five lead heroes and Sue) have been outstanding, each one of them has a small part to play and each one has given their best shots.
Aamir Khan (DJ): The best thing about Aamir Khan is that he completely transforms himself as the character, he never acts, he himself becomes the character. And he has done the same here as well, DJ (Daljeet) is a Delhi University passout, still unaware of his destiny, but believes in friends and ''Khao, Piyo, Chill maro'' theory.
Alice Payton (Sue): She comes from London to make the documentary, she has spoken Hindi most of the time and her acting was one of the best acting performances of the movie. She has done a complete justice with her character.
Soha Ali Khan (Sonia): This is the first time I came to know that she can even act, her previous movie performances were as pathetic as good was this one. She plays the role of a college girl who helps out Sue in making her documentary.
Atul Kulkarni (Laxman Pandey): He becomes the leader of Laxman Party in movie and what a brilliant actor he is. His previous performances (Page3, Satta, Chandani Bar) were good, but this one is slightly better than all of the previous ones.
Sharmaan Joshi (Sukhi): ''Win or loose, we must booze'' is his funda, he is in ''talli'' for half of the movie and has shown good comedy skills and good acting skills as well in later part of the movie.
Kunal Kapoor (Aslam): He is a normal guy, seedha-sadha kind of, doesn't booze, but he has looked smart in the movie, acted well and perfectly suited for his character.
Siddhartha (Karan): He is a dude with a rich dad, speaks less but precise, loves to be with friends. He overshadowed all his mates in the end of the movie.
Kirron Kher (DJ's mother), Om Puri (Aslam's Father), Anupam Kher (Karan's Father), Mohan Agashe (Defence Minister) and Madhavan (Ajay) have given their good to make movie a successfull one.
Direction: I have not watched Aks, but after watching this movie I can say that I admire Rakesh Mehra (yes I want to make a movie some day). His direction is fabulous and the movie wouldn't have the same effect without the help of his direction. Importanly he has tried to focus on the real aspects of a common man's life. The best part of the movie is ''It is a balanced movie'', every part is given right time and right amount of time in the movie. The movie never becomes slow and moves well at a decent pace and gains some speed in the end.
Cinematography: Among the technical aspect, this is the field which takes a 10 on 10 from me (not even 0.000001 mark less). The way a dialouge from ChandraShekhar Azad transforms into DJ speaking the same is excellent; it really takes a lot of hard work to get the same done with such smoothness. The effect of cinematography can be seen in the whole movie and the minor things have even looked impressive.
Background Music: This is another aspect which has been given proper attention for this movie. It has really helped getting few scenes intensity they require. I won't be surprised if the movie takes out the best background music award this year.
Music: A lot has already been said about the music; Yes music is good and more importantly the picturisations of all the songs are fantastic and most of the songs fit in at the time they are put. Pathshala and Rubaroo are still my favouritel; for reading more on RDB music, please visit:

There are many scenes that can actully be put as standout scenes so its better we watch the movie instead of putting the scenes.
In the end would just like to say that it's a must watch ... one should watch it irrespective of what generation he/she belongs to ...
