Rang De Basanti - Crap at it’s Best . Review on Rang De Basanti

“Rang De Basanti” – a film that’s got every Tom, Dick & Harry & even Harry’s brother Barry and all their girlfriends and aunties talking non-stop about it. Boys & Girls seem to praising this movie endlessly ever since they saw it. Non stop praise about how super-sexy this movie was and how outstanding Amir Khan has been in this film. The best film Amir’s made till date, the best Hindi Movie ever made; were some of the contagious and most common comments to hit my ears. Now all this hype and praise got me all curious and excited, what if this is true then I must definetly see it for myself, considering sold out theatres then this movie must definetly have something about it that is really worth seeing.

Believe me I am no Hindi movie buff, but I like a good movie when I see one, and considering Amir Khan acting in this one ( trust me He’s a talented actor of quality and the best at what he does in his field ) so this definetly should be a film of quality content by Amir’s standard of screen.

So finally got down to watching the movie and here’s my tiny tale of it….

I will brief up a summary of the film, some of you may have heard great story reviews about this film, some of you haven’t watched the film as yet ( those who have not seen this film and would like to watch it I suggest you stop reading after this sentence…it will kill the suspense I mean it (sacarsm alert !!!)) , and for those of you who will see it to believe it, even after you read this review…Read On….

“Group of Indian Friends leader of the gang Amir Khan meet Foreign Chick , She want to do film on Bhagat Singh (Mr.Bombsquad of his Time) , friends decide to act in documentary, now they all start having fun (public really loves this funny crap process), then a friend dies in a plane crash, Friends including Raja Hindustani start a morcha to protest against the IA - & Defense Minister. Govt wins…Friends are heartbroken with anger, they decide to take the law in own hands and plan attacks that were similar to the frame plan of Bhagat Singh…ultimately causing violence and destruction and murdering the Defense Minister..(Justice Served..you think??)…they ultimately get gunned down ( silly retards) and Amir does a fulltoo filmi death screen shot and the public is drowned in emotional black mail. End of film all Friends die except Foreigner girl who liked Amir and coaxed them into doin a documentary on Bhagat Singh.History repeats itself…yet again”

After watching this film, I was really wondering what the people saw in this movie. It was nothing but violence potrayed in the poorest form.(yup there are many violent films made but a film propagating the juvenile attempts of violence linking patriotism is no message to spit out to the Indian public). Kids taking the law into their own hands aping a freedom fighter and potraying his mode of destruction is not a act of patriotism but simply terrorism being potrayed indirectly to kids who seem to think it’s all right, Amir & his warriors have done the nation proud, well they paid the price for their stupidity too!).

Then the End of it all but what’s hilarious is that the public has just been so brainwashed into praising a film of no worth and acclaiming it to be the best hindi movie ever made…I certainly don’t agree with that claim, there are way better hindi films out there, 10 times the worth and quality to this one. It is amazing how stereotype the audience is, some holding on to their views, some sticking with the views of others, some waiting to draw conclusions as per the reviews of their fellow men, we forget one thing we are independent, just be free to express what you really feel”.

You may think I am a crazy dude who got all the time in the world to write this review, well I don’t but I made time to pen my thoughts down especially after this film has been so badly distorted by the public. Why are we arguing…it’s the directors and Actors who earn while we see and speak. The smiles are ultimately on their faces. I know writing this review will create further curiosity in the minds of people who haven’t seen the film and they’d probably go to the movie with 10 of their friends. But atleast they will go watch it with a different logical approach to things.

So the final answer to the question I started off with ? Do I feel “Rang De Basanti” is the best film Amir Khan ever acted in?

All I will say is, If you asked me to come watch “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” or “Dil” , I would’nt hesitate to watch it again. But then again To each their Own”
