The review will be quick perspective as its been 6 weeks since the movie has been released. Notice the no lip sync of the actors and actresses to the songs in the movie, thats unique and rare. Notice the stop frames in the songs used i.e. when the screenplay motions slows down then normal real time speed. Sepia tone for the bygone era, this to clearly mark the era gone and ofcourse the Rang De Basanti of the Gen 'Y'.

So its only Kiron Kher in the movie who actually sings a line in the movie. These things and many others that sets the hindi cinema on the verge of experimentation and being different in real way. Look how to make people watch a movie depends on the amount of entertainment value one packs in, this is where the movie scores. If you happen to laugh and enjoy the first half the second half is where seriousness jumps in.

Agreed that the movie which took a dragged space in the first half was hurried in the 2nd but this doesnt take the credits away from the makers. Rakeysh Mehra's worth as a director comes to full light with this movie, the good thing about him this time is that he sticks to basics without complicating the things. Compare this to Aks where he wants us to see the Devilish side, its the complexities that takes the movie down whereas RDB works for the transitional fun and the sorrow by the characters.

The bunch of fun loving friends gradually ENTERTAINING you along transition themselves to fight for the serious cause. Notice the word entertaining; Its the paying public, its the hip and happening youth that is watching your movie. We like getting preached but pamper us to preach it, befriend with us and teach us. That's where RDB works it entertains and then makes the point. Entertainment is the best way to get points across.

The Point. Well this is where I had my apprehensions about the movie. The friends were fighting for for friend's cause or for the nation? Probably before I could elaborate and criticize this point more, director deftly handled the aspect when Karan takes the calls from the nation.

The movie doesnt rage a civil war. That's something I really laughed upon, Get this straight the movie might be a jolter of sorts if you have a thinking mind but the movements of pebbles doesnt change the course of the tide. It has provided you with a perspective, think if you want to else tommorow is a new day and have tea/coffee whatever you wish to drink. For me I took somethings from the movie but I wont advocate the ways suggested by the movie.

The few observations that were brushed up by the movie were :

1) The youth today is more friendly bonded then previously. Coz nuclear families, students moving out for jobs and studies. So Rang De gave me a perspective on the youth in this regard i.e. take for e.g. the character of Sukhi..who can do anything for the group? so thats the bonding.

2) Bureucracy in India has always been shown a corrupt government machinery. So sa happens with this movie, well my take is wherever there is money, power comes and when they both are at the same ends it gets corrupted. Be it Private sector.

3) Movies can be different and entertaining.

I would rate Aamir Khan's performance as the stellar one coz he was the reason that people came to watch it due to his Star Value. Atleast my family went in to watch him and yes it was worth. I give Sharman Joshi his due credit to complement the energy of Aamir in the movie. Rest of the cast was APT. Music was worth especially the slow tracks like Luka Chuppi and Khoon Chala. I wasnt too keen with the quick youth like songs.

All in all, its upto you to take message from the movie. Remember when SRK proposed Kajol in DDLJ the movie said ''Come Fall in Love''. People followed it, RDB says ''Generation Awakens'', I hope something gets followed coz its easier to propose to a girl then actually proposing a thought for your country, Think.
