I'VE BEEN TAKEN FOR A RIDE (NOT IN A NEW MARUTI)

I am having a harrowing experience with this dealership. I pray to God that this end soon. For those of you who are considering buying a Maruti Suzuki car, stay away from them.


I had booked a Maruti Wagon-R VXI metallic passion red on 9/1/2009 withRana Motors, Rekhi House, A-2/7 Safdarjung Enclave, (Opp. Bhikaji CamaPlace), New Delhi - 110029. I paid a booking amount of Rs 10, 000.(Receipt no. 53594) to their salesman Ramandeep Singh. During booking, the salesman promised me to deliver the car by Monday 10/1/2009. Basedon the salesman's word, I made a full down-payment for the remainingbalance on 11/1/2009 for Rs. 3, 48, 251(Receipt no. 53621)


However when I contacted Ramandeep on Monday, he started citingstrange reasons and asked me to wait till the next day. He said thatthere is a shortage for the Maruti Wagon-R Vxi metallic passion red carall over India and that Maruti is not dispatching this vehicle to thedealer even after repeated requests. After calling up the salesmanseveral times, he called me on Tuesday(13/1/2009) evening to say thathe won't be able to deliver the car that day and I have to wait for 3-4days. All throughout the salesman was unable to give me an exact dataand time by which I could take the delivery of my first car.


Sensing that I did not have any assurance of the delivery of thevehicle from the salesman, I made a stop payment to the cheque for thebalance of Rs.3, 48, 251. When the dealer got to know that I had stoppedthe payment, he contacted me on Wednesday(14/1/2009) and promised methat the vehicle will be delivered on Friday(1/16/2008).


Well today is Friday, and I thought I have had enough bullshit fromthis dealer. I wanted to speak with a manager or the owner at RanaMotors, but the lady at the reception repeatedly connected me to thesalesman's extension. Fed up with this I left a message with her. Ireceived a call back from a lady claiming to be the salesman's seniorand she also told me the same thing - "sir maruti se gaadiyannahin aa rahi hein. yeh poore india mein yeh shortage chal raha hain. iam sorry to say aapko 3-4 din aur wait karna padega."


I think I have had enough with this dealership and their crapexcuses. I have raised the issue with Maruti and seems like they have taken this seriously. They have already shot an email to the dealer. I'll keep you posted on the developments.
