Recently I had been to Ramoji Film city, near Hyderabad city with my family. Ramoji Film City situated around 22 Kms. away from Hyderabad City in Anaspur Village is world's largest integrated film city and India's only thematic holiday destination with magic of cinema. This film city is founded by Ramoji Rao, famous film veteran in the year 1996 spread in 2000 Acres of land.
A film maker can walk with a script and walk out with a film and hence imagine the type of facilities available under one roof- film shooting, sound recording, Music & editing. We would have a very good experience of movie making in various complexes/theatres like Eureka, Ramoji movie magic Fundustan & studio of Tour complexes located here. It is a magical realm filled with excitement and also wonderful surprises/experience in every turn within inside this film city. SAHAS - The adventure Land is a multiple adventure experience filled with thrilling, excitement and breathtaking for the youth. The ATV(All Terrain Vehicle), Bunjee ejection, Mountain Biking, Shooting & Archery are all very excellent and exciting and my children very much liked it. For participation in each of these adventure sports separate charge has to be paid.
I had a brief interaction with the manager of this Sahas adventure sports and understood that they maintain high safety standards and also the equipment and components deployed for the sports are of highest quality standards and confirm to world safety levels. The many gardens present inside this 2000 acres is a rich and vivid experience one will come across and the staff maintain these gardens pretty well. The fountains, artificial caves, various statues with scriptures are worth seeing. Children would certainly enjoy the Butterfly garden with real butterflies.The Bird sanctuary contain a variety of birds from several parts of the world and ample space and natural environment is provided to these birds for free movement and breeding and much care is taken to see that the birds won't be disturbed by visitors. Specially modelled attractive buses inside this complex would take us freely around the whole area where one would come across ideal film shooting locations such as airport, railway station, jail, American street, landscapes for song shooting, Japanese gardens etc. The nighttime colourful lighting/lumination on trees and fountains and entire buildings, pathways is really exciting and an experience as if we are in a dreamland.
There are tourist operators inside Hyderabad/Secunderabad who are arranging one day tour to this film city. The admission fee for entry to the film city is separately payable near the entrance Arch. One can also book the admission ticket through online by logging in to Ramoji film city site. There are also 4 hotels inside this city for stay and boarding. I also understood that the entire land which houses the film city was once a battlefield and burial ground but how this barren land has been changed into a dreamworld could only be believed when we visit the place and sense the dedication and imagination of the people involved behind this.
On the other hand the entry fee to the film city, Sahas, various rides, adventure rides, food/ snacks and also for items in the shops is very much on the higher side. Also much time has to be wasted for waiting to get entry to various amusement shows/auditoriums and if proper planning is not done it is not possible to visit many of the excitements. This is of course a drawback if one doesn't have special pass/special entry ticket.
Indians should be proud of this film city and I recommend everyone to visit this city with their family at least once.
