Ramji Londonwaley - Madhvan's return to bollywood. Thats all I can say.

To cut a long story short - The story of the movie goes something like this - Ramji (Madhvan) is a cook in the interior part of Bihar . He learns and loves to cook and finally realises his dream of getting his sis married ...but is forced to go to London by his sister's Father in law , because he failed to cough up the promised amount as dowry.

once in London as expected he loses his passport and by chance saves the life of a mentally retarted child of an indian couple , and promptly cooks his way into their hotel and home and lives. but a suspicious cop who is searching for illegal immigrants starts suspecting Ramji and to deal with the situation , a corrupt lawyer (arent they all? ) suggests Ramji gets into a contract marriage with his fiancee (Samita Bangargi). well after that things go as planned , Ramji falls in love with his contracted wife complicating things . the movie comes to an end with the both of them having to face interrogation by the home dept.

I blurted out the story because there is nothing new in it.

Madahavan is first class as Ramji - but his accent doesnt seem to be steady, keeps wavering. as for the rest of the cast Samita Bangargi is just about tolerable while the supporting cast of Harsh Chaya , Raj Zutshi , Satish Shah et all are competent.

The music is miserable and doesnt lift up the mood ot the tempo of the movie.

The direction by Sanjay Damya (assistant on Lagaan) is just so-so and besides he is not helped by his make up artist , all actors look a shade darker in this movie. Shoddy editing doesnt aid the movie.

But the way the audience clapped and cheered in the last scene , hold on hold on , they dont cheer because the hero / heroine get married , they cheer because the BIG B enters the movie as a guest appearance playing himself and he inagurates Ramji's rasoi .

If u r a Madhavan fan this movie is right up your street , if not well you wont miss much if u dont have a look.
