The KING of COMEDY!. Review on Raju Srivastava

Well..................firstly its so good to be back on MOUTHSHUT,my computer finally got repaired................it was so boring all this while as I was unable to surf the net,and I am one computer addict,so now I get to work on the net....................now coming to the topic,RAJU SRIVASTAV..............the new emerging stand up comedian,whom not many know but who is far more talented than all the comic actors on tv or films put together..............so I decided to write a revew on him as I am one of his biggest fans................and I am happy he is finally getting his due ,recogination and fame that he deserves,THE GREAT INDIAN LAUGHTER CHALLENGE has given him a new lease of life..............he stood up third in the competition but I feel he was on par with SUNIL PAL.............the winner.I was seeing one of his interview on STAR ONE................and he was saying that he was getting offers for 40-50 shows as compared to what he was getting before,he has also got few good offers from BOLLYWOOD...............so things are looking up for this talented mimic cum comic artist.

RAJU SRIVASTAV is a great artist................and a cut above the rest,because I feel he is very original and what I like the best about all his acts is that he does a lot of abstract things...............like aping a local train,handle of a train,bulb,tubelight,fan...................and it is so brilliant and funny,that ita hard to beleive that a person can make you laugh with such things.I think its a very hard thing to do................to make you laugh with such abstract things but he does it amazingly well.Not many have that talent.............to do it.I have been following all his acts on GILC,and have liked all...............the other thing I like about him is that he has a very good command over his language and expressions esp the UP ki bhasha that he speaks.....................its very funny,also he is very versatile,he mimics,he does his original stuff................he has a very sharp sense of comedy and observation..........and it reflects in all his performances and acts.

GILC has been a great platform for him..............and he is one reason to watch the show and most of the time he is brilliant.I HOPE THEY MAKE A compilation of all his best work in a CD and bring it in the market................i have almost all his recorded acts and keep watching it often......................there were some memorable things he did on the show..............

When he mimicked ANIL KAPOOR,NANA PATEKAR,SHARUKH KHAN,DHARMENDRA,DILIP KUMAR.........................it was just outstanding.His expressions,dialouge delivery and body language was unbeleivably good and funny................esp when he copied NANA PATEKAR who comes to purchase a pair of shoes,was hilarious.

He also did a rip of on the beggars..............of Hazi Ali,and how they are the biggest actors on earth.As long as you are not passing by................they will be perfectly fine,and once they see you their acting will start...................very natural and true.In the same episode he copied the local trains of MUMBAI and the plight of the train and passengers in it................it was also a great act.

Another of my favourite was when he copied the reporter of a TV CHANNEL..............as to how they behave and react when some calamity comes,as to how they they are not bothered as to what has happened to the people but instead they ask them questions..............

My favourite one was what he did in the beginning of the show,when he did a take off on the Indian marriages............esp in that the way he copied the glittering lights and the food which the people eat.

Its hard to pick up and say that this was his best performance in the show..................because he is always good.I feel to make people laugh is the most difficult thing to do on this earth and to do it consistently is even more difficult...............and thats what this man has done.I feel here in our country we don't have very good comedians,in fillms,tv or elsewhere...............the standard of comedy is not very good here,its either over-acting or tends to get too loud. JONNY LEVER who is supposed to be a big comedian on stage and in films..............is not that great,he is way too over-rated.Also he is very loud in his expressions and the way he delivers....................but some of these comic artist on GILC have been genuinly good...............and I see a great future for them,and I wish they get even more success and praise than what they have got till now.,esp RAJU SRIVASTAV................coz he has in him to make it big.There is not much I know about him...............though there is a lot of work to his credit,before this programn but he has come into limelight with GILC only..................so what ever I saw of him on the show,i have written here with what I thought of him.

I wish to see RAJU SRIVASTAV on more shows on TV,films................and I wish he gets his due,after the show gets ended,coz his actual struggle will start after that,when he'll be on his own..............but I hope he goes far coz he is very very talented and this was my reAson for suggesting this topic..................coz we discuss and write on all the big personalities but we don't give credit to these people..............who are equally talented but unfortunately not that big or famous...............so three cheers to RAJU SRIVASTAV-THE KING OF COMEDY.
