I was a hard core bulletin till last year till I got my hands on RD 350. I liked the bike , bought it and luckily I got 85 HT model with chambers/CDI/michellin tyres. NOt to mention the bike was in a very good condition. Having said that now I have India's two best bikes ever and I am so proud to have them in my garage.
RD is something that I saw while growing up. At that time it was just one of the bike . Yes the firing raised a lots of question as to what was it. Years past by and now I have a RD and the right time I can explore it. The fastest bike in th country and even after it got phased off 15 years back it still manages to turn heads while you zipping across. The power delivery is something that needs to be believed , it litreally pulls you in 1, 2 and 3rd gear and you can feel the difference. Top end is 130km for a properly tuned bike. More can be extracted by porting and other modifications.
The bike handles like a dream, you will very confident while cornering . Brakes are pretty ok but it makes sense to have disc brakes which I have and that increases the confidence. Even today RD can kick some hard b around but one challenge that most of us face is finding good mechanics. For RD owners maintaining is somewhat that needs to be enjoyed. Take care of the beast and the beast will never ditch you. It's a bike that faded with time or probably which was born before its time. RD 350 is a legacy that will remain forever. Lets try to revive and maintain the era that RD had once.
