Rajdoot Standard AKA Rajdoot Excel-T, Was my dad's First bike.  I am not when he purchased it, but I am pretty sure it 1980 or 81 becoz my dad got job I 1979 and he said he bot the bike just a yr after that from his salary!  It was his "First Love" just like every one has.

Today most of the guys and girls especially in the cities and big Town fulfill their first Wish and first love right even before earning the money themselves, which also includes me.  And even thou after this, we love our bikes sometimes even more than our Friends.

But my Dad had the only opportunity of buying a new bike only after he earns money all by himself.  And so, since it was his first bike purchased his own sweat, I Know how he loved the bike.

He owned it Until 2004(almost about 23yrs) and then because of Aging and back pain he switched over a light weight bike Hero Honda Splendor+ in late 2004.

The bike he owned was Black in color and had the Unique Pin key Start system. U dont require a Key to start the bike. And even if u lose the Pin, u can even sometimes start it with a Pin look alike object! Or even a Big Nail.  That was actually cool and unsafe.

PROS -

1) A Bike which looks like a sister of a Bullet Bike.  Not as heavy as bullet and not as light as other bikes. That gives the bike a majestic Rocky look.

2) The unique Pin Key start system was actually very cool.

3) Not only the pin key but also the Duf duf kinda exhaust sound almost similar to bullet wer also a added advantage.

4) The bike was built to withstand any kind of roughness.  Road or Of Road, the bike is built to handle it.

5) Low Maintenance, And that is why my dad would have preferred to buy this one.

CONS -

1) the Bike was Pretty heavy.  Well thats actually good for ride stability but not good for Aging biker.

2) Bike's Suspension system is not that strong. You had to replace the suspension rods even 5 to 6 yrs once.  My dad changed in Twice and in 2000, he could get a new suspension and so then limitised the use of bike.    Bad suspension also are health hazards.  My dad got back ache, only becoz of that.

3) Pin Start system is cool but is unsafe. If a thief gets the steering column Unlocked, then he can start the bike even with a small screw Driver!

4) Fuel consumption is too not as good a other usual bike, but that is the point of buying this bike. For Thrill.

We four(me, my dad, my bro and mom) had experience over a dozen of good and bad moment on the bike including Trips, Chases and Accidents.  I can't forget those days with this bike.

Today, I miss my dad as he was lost to heavens a couple of yrs ago and I do miss my Dad's rajdoot too because we sold the bike in 2004 for scrap.  That means there is no chance of getting the bike back at any cost!

VERDICT - Overall, A wonderful bike which I miss today.

"If I had done big mistake in my life which I regret about it even Today, Then its selling the Rajdoot".   I shouldn't have sold it.
