I went to this place for the first time on the eve of Diwali, 2008. I was very sad and upset that I wasn’t with my family this Diwali and most of my friends were gone to their hometowns. Fortunately, one of my friends suggested we go out for dinner after office. I agreed because I dint want be at home alone and moreover, this friend has always been known to explore all the best eat out places in Bangalore.
He took me to this place in UB city. I had never been to UB City so the entire evening kind of started getting exciting as soon as entered the place. When I saw Rajdhani, I was all the more pleased. The ambience, the waiters and the food, all of it looked great. There were loads of other people waiting for their turn along with. But the waiting time dint matter because you have a fountain and amphitheatre there with the tower of UB City on its background is quite breathtaking.
Finally, when we got out table, I realized the wait was worth it. Soon the plates were arranged and one of the waiters came with a beautiful pot with water to help you wash your hand before you have your food. Then serve chaanch(butter milk), and all the starters and desserts are served. The rest of the items also followed the desserts immediately. Desserts can vary from malpua rabdi to kheer to halwa, gulab jamoon, jaleebi to anything at all depending on the day. They serve 3 sweet dishes, pakoras, dhokla, khaman, puran poli(small puris), gujrati and rajasthani kadhi, bajre ki roti, phulka and a lot more. I don’t even remember all of them but the best part you can eat as much as you want. They have rice, khichdi and curd also if you want rice as well.
Also, the managers are always there to attend and ask you to have some more. It gives you a very homely feeling as if you someone known to you is attending to you, such is their courtesy. Also, they also serve mineral water bottles complimentary with the thali and all of it for a mere 250 bucks. That was a delight! My mood was so much better when I walked out of this place.
I have gone back to Rajdhani several times since then and everybody who I have taken to this place has only been praises about the place, food and service.
I would only rate the place as AWESOME! Keep it up guys.:)
