Last week we visited Great India Place in Noida for shopping. Now, when you roam around and do
some shopping, you start to feel hungry. That hunger took us to the food court which is located
at the top floor of Great India Place. I am pretty sure many of us know about GIP, as it is one
of the great places for shopping, enjoying and having fun. And, its food court adds same value to
its glory.
You have many options for food in the food court. Like Indian, Mughlai, South Indian, Chinese,
Rajasthani, Gujrati, Continental etc. So, when we felt hungry, we looked for something different
this time. My wife suggested Sagar as an option, as it was tried & tested. Also, we both like
South Indian food. Unfortunately, I had some other idea and I insisted for Rajdhani Restaurant.
There were two reasons I suggested that. One, she had never been to Rajdhani restaurant; second,
I wanted to have something different. This is what I did wrong.
Rajdhani is not kind of restaurant that you may like. At least we did not like it. It was a total
waste of money. We paid 500.00 for what? Some tasteless food?
Let me explain.
Ambience: If you ask me to rate the ambience ona scale of 5, I would probably rate them at 2.5.
They are just okay! They have tried to give an ethnic look to the restaurant and they are not
totally failed in that. The theme belongs to Rajasthan or Gujrat and the food makes you feel
that.
Service: The idea is to serve the food as they do it in rural areas. So, what they do is to serve
whatever you wish to have. They keep on bringing food items and you may choose to have some or
all. Service is okay, as there are so many to serve. However, some times it seems as if it is
kind of a mess(both meanings) and you may have to call couple of times to attract attention of
one of the waiters. I may give them a 3 on service, though.
Food Quality: As I said, the theme is Rajasthani and/ or Gujrati. The food is kinda assorted.
What I mean is, at times you tend to lose the interest as they suddenly bring totally different
items. They begin with a Aloo pakoda, some khimchi salad and Chhach(butter milk) and green & red
chutney. As soon as you finish that stuff, waiters will start coming to serve you Roti, Poori,
daal, matar paneer, Gujrati Kadhi, a subzi, Srikhand, Raita, Custard, Rice, Gulab Jamun and god
knows what. Now, do you see why it makes it difficult to judge them? There is no combination of
Gujarati Sweet Kadhi and Custard. Also, they do not stick to one theme. Its neither Gujarati nor
Rajasthani. Its a mix of both.
If you ask me, I will say that the food was tasteless. I heard someone say that it was a
home-like food.If you say that, that may mean you need to improve the quality of food at home. I
know cooking and I also know what makes good food.
In all, quality was not good at all.
Food Quantity: This is what is good here. You can eat as much as you want. But you may not want
to eat that much considering the taste.
In my opinion, visit them only if you have no other option.
