Mammootty is Rocking
I watched this movie last Sunday from Anand Theater, Chennai. In a single sentence, Rajamanikyam is a playful comedy movie. If you are looking for a serious movie with some message or at least with some story, do not even go near to the cinema.
If you are either born 'n brought up in kerala or some-what familiar with regional lingoes in Kerala, who will enjoy this movie like anything from the moment our hero Rajamanikyam (Mammooty) appears. Thirontharam(Thiruvanathapuram) lingo is the key reason for the success of this movie.
Mammootty’s timing on comedy in this movie is perfect. Once there was a time, people had a strong believe that he cannot handle comedy properly, he proved it wrong in movies like Kottayam Kunjhachan andOru Maravathur Kanavu, but in this one he beats all his earlier comedy kinda roles. Many years back, there had many success movies with Mammootty-Rahman (a teenager at that time) combo. I don’t see any chemistry still working with not-any-more teenager Rahman, earlier on Black and now this movie too.
Scriptwriter T.A.Shahid and debutant director Anwar Rasheed must be given full credit making this comedy rollercoaster ride.
SaiKumar as Rajarathinam Pillai is brilliant. Ranjith as villain Nadar has done a good job. Manoj.K.Jayan is quite OK.
On the flip side, Padma Priya is supposed to be the heroine, but has got nothing to do with this movie. No comedy from Cochin Haneefa; even there was no need of him for that role. Songs & https://lyrics...sorry I cant remember nothing about that except the picturisation.
Finally, Rajamanikyam is a family entertainer, must-watch for fun loving and easygoing people. Yeah.... With not even a single dirty joke.
