Rahul a "gem forgiven". Review on Rahul Dravid

I am a die hard rahul dravid fan.He has been instrumental in some of the best moments of indian cricket.How one can forget the famous adelaide test where he scored a magnificient test doble century alongside a century by vvs laxman.

He alongside ajit agarkar who took 6 wkts won that test match for inbdia in australia versus australia after a very long time.His test century against england in trent bridge where india won that famous test match.

He was calculated to have batted 5 days in that test series alone.Ever since rahul scored a century alongside a memorable 281 scored by vvs laxman in that eden garden test match I became a huge fan of him.

I was not only impressed by his batting but also by his on field behavior . He is a true gentleman of the game.He was awarded nicknamed "wall" , rightly so because not only he has won so many matches for india but he was also instrumental in saving lot of matches for india.

I cannot qoute all of his achivements in this review because of time shortage and also because I want to stress mainly on what he has gone through over the last 1 year where he has been dropped from the one day team just because he failed to operform in 4 onedayers versus australia in the home series.

I dont want to compare him against sachin but I have to. There can be no one in this earth who can score consistently for 19 years without having dropped from the team. When sachin was not scoring runs as well as not performing the role for captainship in the past , he was not droped from the team insted he was only dropped as captain then also because of his own wish.

And now he has been performing well the question him dropping him never arises. If it again happens then also he will not been dropped because I think he belons from home of indian ckt mumbai.You cannot imagine that there was a time when sachin gets out cheaply, I used to switch off tv and went to toilet and lock the toilet room for a while but now it doesn't happen anymore.

You might be thinking that this review belongs to rahul dravid instead I am writing against sachin but I want to tell my readers that this is the partiality which rahul dravid faces in indian cricket.Rahul is of same stature of sachin according to me instead he is much bigger than sachin because he has won more significant matches for india than sachin.

I must also admit that rahul latest slump in form over the last 2 years in test cricket is because of his own playing style.How can a player of rahul class restrict himself for playing cut shorts . If one canot plays square of the wicket shots in test ckt especially if you were the calibre of rahul. I can understand if a player

is in bad form he might restrict himself from playing away from the body but if you are performing extraordinary well consistently and also you are a great player you canot be replaced easily by someone else if you fails in one or two innings.But this is what happened to rahul then when he took over the responsibility of captainship, he suddenly crumble under pressure of captainship and he lost his flair.

I therefore admit that he alongwith sachin are great players but as captains they fail to deliver.Inspite of not performing the role of captainship well , I want the govt to recognise his efforts and should award him with "bharat ratna" for outstanding contribution to indian ckt and also a true gentleman and a great ambassador of india to other countries.

I know one can understand that I am getting very emotional but that is what I feel for rahul.At last I want to tell my reader that govt should recognise sports personalities and not to give padamshri to former miss world inspite of doing nothing in films.I hope you understand to whom I am referring to.
