Hmmm.. at the start, it was good, or rather great...and then came too many ads, RJ changes and music repetition..and Radio Mirchi Pune has lost it's hotness... sad but true!
At the start, they played the lastest and the best music...but I dunno why they still play THOSE songs??!! for example, the song bhumbro has been repeated so many times! it's so irritating that even good songs sound very boring...
Also, in the beginning, they had gr8 RJs, e.g. Sangram, Meenal(she didn't seem to know much of RJing, but her voice was too sweet!) and my favourite Ms. Gurpreet! It didn't really matter that sangram and some others left, but since Gurpreet left, I rarely listen to radio mirchi; she used to make my day in the morning with 4 hours of great music and sexy 'n lovely voice of hers, on the programme Hello Pune.
During exam times we really used to go to canteen half hour be4 exam and relax by listening to her voice!! (forget the music) ;-)
Earlier even Sajid Khan too used to be there, I guess on saturday or sunday(not sure)..now even he doesn't come. there used to be this ghazal special on some day(see, now I don't remember even the day!), late night. The stopped that too! dunno why! I;m not sure whether they still have the programme love bites..even that was good. An every night late was old hindi songs with shubhra. even that isn't there now I guess (didn't hear it since a long time)
That programme, Let's Talk, a dialin discussion programme with RJ Gurpreet, that was scrapped long back...God know why...it was so popular!
I still listen radio mirchi everyday, only b'cos it's played in my gym....and those stupid songs they play at that time (7pm-9pm)...it really distracts during exercise rather than pumping up! Only a few good songs I heard lately, like habba habba hui hui(joggers park), bombay boys theme song, mairee(euphoria) etc etc... Seems these days they get hold of only sick remixes or flop songs...Hardly anything worth listening :-(
Among the current RJ's, only Mandy is good, a bit stupid with her PJ's, but still good. The new RJ's nirvan used to join gurpreet with hello pune, I disliked him since then itself! and now he manages the whole morning show hello pune...nothing personal with him, but really, who wants to hear a half-choked voice every morning!!
So all in all, I miss songs like World of our own, Oh baby baby it's a wild world, blue-dabadi, etc etc... and I miss Gurpreet the most!!! What a gorgeous voice! ;-)
