Hi Folks, Recently I shifted to Pune due to Job change. In this very historic and green city one can find Radio Mirchi 93.9 FM as a only private FM player. Well before coming over to Pune I was working in Mumbai and been quite familiar and used to listening to private FM stations for almost over an year or so. Its been indeed a great experience of listening to the FM radio stations in Mumbai(including Radio Mirchi 98.3, Win 94.6, Radio City 91.0 etc..) and I was hoping that the same will continue irrespective of change in city. My first disappointment was, in Pune ther's only one FM station i.e. Radio Mirchi 93.9 FM, whereas in Mumbai it was total 5 private FM stations. So one can always get a good quality of music across all the stations and above all one can always have a choice of selecting the station as per his/her like. I guess this was missing badly in Pune. I do appreciate initiative and venture of TOI group in starting the first private FM stations in Pune. Having said that, the quality of music, programmes and most importantly the selection of songs (Hindi/English) is no way comparable to the Radio Mirchi 98.3 in Mumbai operated by the same TOI group. The Radio Jocky doesnt sound catchy or attractive. They do all the blah blah and try to speak too much irrespective of time and mood. Guess they should speak smartly and more effectively than just pooh pooh.. Its really surprising to see a considerable difference between the two different FM stations, operated by the same group. I guess it might be due to lack of competition as this is the only one in city or for reason not known to me. I sincerely feel there is enough scope for improvement in terms of selection of songs (I mean by what type of song you play and wht time you play it?..Definitely no one will play a Jazzy Remix songs in morning at 08:00 AM..Will you?), selecting the programmes and last but definitely not least the RJ's. I think its the RJ's which makes any private/AIR radio stations more popular and not the BRAND name. Atleast I feel that way..Don't know about the readers?? Ask any one in Mumbai about the quality of music selection, the RJ's etc..??..Hope few ppls will agree to this.... Since the Govt. of India has reduced the license fee for private FM players, it will bring in more competition, that will in turn pump the fresh air in radio stations that will make the listeners of radio more happy and cheeerful... Thanks,

Pros : First & Only FM player in City

Cons: Poor Song Selection, Bad Songs Repository/Database, Radio Jocky
