I have been living in Bangalore for almost 3 yrs. Bangalore was lacking a decent FM Radio Channel and sometime around jul 2001, there was this station Radio City 91 and to be frank, I enjoyed it pretty much. There was a decent and good mix and good English and Hindi music.
As always, the charm of anything new is very temporary. It has been almost 3 yrs since these people have gone live on air. The programs are now going from good to bad to worse to (I am not able to get the mega superlative adjective with which I could describe the pathetic and absolute losers path they have take) .......
Take the morning program - Breakfast Show. Organising this is pretty simple
Take 20 songs and cut it into 3 CD's..
Put them onto A 3 CD Changer.
Play it in the shuffle mode.
Repeat this procedure for the next 20 days
Day 21: Replace One of the CD's
and continue for the next 21 days.
These RJ's have become so boring and they keep cracking the same genre of supposedly called jokes.
There should be a blend of good english and hindi. Radio should typically be the place we listen to good music and the go to the music stores to buy, but radio city does it otherwise. You can listen to one song in the breakfast show and be rest assured that you will be able to listen to them atleast for the next 1 month or so. By then you would have got extremely tired and bored of listening to the same song.
The only +ve point I see in Radio City is that to an extent they have contibuted socially..
When it comes to entertainment, I think it should be handled by professional
The Only Reason why such a boring and monotonous Radio Station is Surviving in a City Like Bangalore is that they lack competition. To be fair to them, may be they would improve when faced with competion. The lopside of competition, well I just hope we do not end up finding the best of the worst...!!
