Only sheer curiosity could have pulled in this many people today to watch this movie but I am sure even die hard fan of Shahrukh would have been disappointed watching this movie.* (This I say seeing the response of my wife).
Since there are already a dozen reviews out there telling the story I would not like to repeat the same but would be glad to put in my take. The movie is a drag from the start and out of the only three recognizable faces in the movie (Shahrukh, anushka and Vinay pathak) the most pathetic was Shahrukh. I am sure he should have saved a lot of money on his make-up as most part of the movie he is in his natural beauty with no makeup and a fake moustache. All I can see in Shahrukh is last few flicker in a dying lamp. With such standards he is already loosing his fan base and with his ever deteriorating image all after the BOTOX and other things he did to get his Six Packs in OSO he seemed to have lost the charm in his face that he used to have earlier.
During the initial half Shahrukh tries everything and fails to entertain the crowd. I could see the whole bunch in the cinema halls getting bored. Even in the song where Kajol , Rani the lucky mascots appear along with Bipasha and few more could only show the desperation of Shahrukh to do something to entertain. Shahrukh tries apeing everyone from Rajkapoor, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna till Rishi kapoor. But I am glad he did not do a mockery as he did in OSO of Manoj Kumar.
Anushka has done her role superbly and at no place did she make any flaw. The way she rendered the character has really amazed and I can already see a very good actress in making. They way she presents herself is superb and could remind you Kareena in Jab We Met. Anushka is graceful in her actions and looks apt in the role she appears.
Vinay Pathak is superb as usual and his role as Bobby Khosla brings life in the movie. The erst while friend of Surinder (Shahruk) who helps him in his dual role sponsoring the wardrobe and his mobike. Vinay has again proven his capablities as a great actor.
None of the song tracks remain even in traces in your mind except Holey Holey Hojayega.. That too because the amount of promotion in the television now a days. I wonder how long Bollywood keep fooling with movie goers showing the same character with and with out moustache as the only difference which could not be detected by his wife.
Although this may not be a flop but would be a sure waste of your hard earned money unless you have a Shahrukh fan in your home desperate to watch this movie. But a very good occasion to prove to those fans why you dislike Shahrukh.
