Movie review. Review on Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

The hype pulled me to the theatre. The Ushers were all sporting the Ghajni look and we took some snaps with an Amir Khan mannequin. However the movie I went to see was Rab ne Bana di Jodi. I had read a couple of reviews. And knew the story before hand and what to expect. I knew that the ending was predictable and that Sharukh was Amazing as Suri and Vinay pathak was Amazing As his friend. Anushka Sharma was good but the script did not allow her much to do. I was told that the end had been messed up and the majic of DDLJ was not repeated By Aditya Chopra.Thanks to these reviewers I went with no expectations.But surprisingly I thoroughly enjoyed the movie ( and came out with my heart warm for Anoushka). There were flaws and they were expected but there was so much to enjoy which even though seen before was heart warming. Let me tell you the scopes of improvement for the movie. The lead pair participate in a Dance completion and the training is shown in elaboration however you get no feel of the completion, or the reality TV feel or organization. The dance rivals were not properly build up well, also there is no sense of competition. Every thing has a phony feel about it.

Taking about justifications for the story, a lot of sermonizing happens instead of explanations. Aditya goes for the traditional Convenience of story build up e.g. convenience of beauty parlour and beautician (owned by best friend).. Convenience of motor garage .. Convenience of the friend being there to bail him out when his wife approaches the Garage. Also you get bogged down by the traditional thinking in terms of values. Rab was overplayed! Rub was all over the dialogues and the Story!!! A Look at some of the Positives: Delicate and Cute and attractive lead Actress.. Heart goes out for the heroine.. She has danced well Played a small town happy girl cought up in a series of situations. Good characterization of Suri by Sharukh, You love him in a govt employee look wearing walking shoes with formal clothing. Respectful of everybody with clear principals. Good build up of the climax (average release of the climax) Clear narriative, well played and potrayed within he limitations of the script (Script was Limited).

Adi managed to create enough suspense about whether the married couple will be able to stay together and fall in love. (don’t we take that for granted?) Anoushka’s lonely uninteresting marriage was well shown. Been 2 days and the movie has stayed longer in my mind than most movies (others last 15 minutes) Do not expect, Just Watch it! Pratyush
