I was brought up in the family with grand parents, who had narrated all religious stories to me including ravan's. But, that was
very incomplete that I realized that after watching this show right from the begining. I will recommend everybody to watch this weekly TV show on satuerdays @ 9 P.M. But if you will start watching this show now, then you might have different perception or idea about "Raavan" the ultimate villain.
This show tells you the process of turning an intelligent, ambitious and blessed child into "Ravan". This TV show has a very well researched storyline from authentic references(what I feel by wathing this serial, because these days other mythological serial displays contradictry storyline) and good actors as well as excellent director. This serial is different from the present generation of mythological tales.
Since childhood we know "Raavan" word synonymous to evil. He is infamous for his pride about himself, kidnapping goddess Sita and standing against lord Ram. Later he got killed by Lord Ram. And finally what we know as moral of the story that "Truth always wins and excess of pride makes a man blind etc".
I knew only one good thing about hime that he was a "MahaGyani Purush" . Few of other facts like he was a devotee of lord Shiva and that he was a great scholar. But, what unknown is where did Raavan come from? Who were his mother and father? How did a Devotee of lord Shiva, such a learned person, turned into an evil man?
This show reveals the unknown facts about the life of Raavan. Like, very few of us know how he was named Raavan? What was his original name and why? This whole story is full of situations and influences which changed him to worse.
After watching this serial I have all the answers.
Another good part about this show is the cast; the lead role is played by a very good actor "Narendra Jha" who is a critically acclaimed theatre artist.
So far, we've only known Ravan as the ultimate villain, but after watching this show since its very first episode my perception has been changed.
