My first encounter with RSV hospital happened back in 2011 when my dad was taken following a chest discomfort. They took him to the "Emergency" room, which by the way, is a 8ft x 6ft room with one shabby bed, a table and a chair where the so called "Emergency Doctor" is supposed to be present.

Anyways, after taking him to the ER, the doctor was called in and to my surprise, it was a 22-23 yr old chap, with a stetho hanging around his neck, who came in and started asking questions. I had serious doubts whether that lad was even a doctor in the first place, I mean, anyone with a little bit of training can check your BP and calculate your pulse rate.

Anyways, he immediately ordered an ECG and advised him to get admitted to the ICU, he stated that his condition his critical and he probably had already suffered a mild heart attack. Me and my sister got scared and agreed for the admission. He was taken to the ICU and all the bells and whistles were attached to his body.

The doctor probably ordered as many tests as possible. He was admitted under one Dr Gautam Sarkar. We inquired as to when we can see the doctor and talk to him but we were told that Dr Sarkar comes in late in the evening. So we waited there all day and periodically inquired about my father from the nurses, who in turn told us to "talk to the doctor", who wasn't present even after 9 PM.

The next day I called my dad and he said that the doctor visited him after 11:30 PM and I was like WTF! A patient is admitted in the ER following a chest discomfort and the doctor who is supposed to see him saunters in at 11:30 PM which was about 12 hrs from the time he was admitted. I immediately decided to get him discharged from there on request. Total bill generated by RSV hospital within 20 hrs - Rs 18, 000+

The next encounter happened recently when my dad was admitted following Hyponatremia(fall in blood Sodium level). He was admitted for administering Saline to boost his Sodium levels. The doctor unnecessarily visited him twice per day (Rs 1000 x 2/ day) and checked him for 2-3 mins. Once his Sodium level was normal, the doctor informed us that he has acquired an Urinary Infection and so he has to stay there longer.

The nursing staff and most of the RMOs are clueless, insensitive, rude, smug and instead of trying to assure the patient relatives that the patient would be okay, scares them by telling that he might have a serious health condition and his condition might deteriorate.

To top it all, when you call the hospital to inquire about your patient, the nurses refuse to disclose much details and instead insist that we talk to the doctor.(even if the doctor is not answering our calls)

So to summarize, only go to this hospital if you want to get checked in the OPD for minor ailments. My advise would be to avoid this hospital for any serious cases and definitely try and avoid getting admitted there. I have been to several hospitals and RSV has by far been the worst.

Stay well!
