Situated a little on the outskirts of Chennai city, on the way to Mahabalipuram, the resorts have everything you need for a great weekend. Nothing like a walk on the private beach, with bare minimum crowd, wind in your hair and a girl in your arms (ek se Kaam chalega kya ?). The staff is very Polite and helpful. Expect nothing less than the best. The country like surroundings, and the sand and sun, and the best of all its the best deal you can get for a perfect weekend. If you actually utilize all of the benefits here , you will find out soon, that its your money worth spending on such luxuries.

Comet - The Multi cuisine Restaurant by the sea.
Quiet surroundings , nothing but the sound of the waves and the soft music makes the ambience perfect for a romantic dinner. If you enjoy long drives, then this is the place you can hide out. The service is excellent. I cant say the food is great, but its quiet OK. You can find most of the Cuisines,Chinese , Tandoori, chettinad, Italian and Moghul. There is a bar attached. you wont find much crowd here, which adds more to your perfect weekend hangover. Here is a hint, Stick to Chinese or Chettinad.
Corporate Get together
Just above comet restaurant there is a small but totally open balcony with tiled ceiling. This place is ideal for parties and company get togethers.there is another location nearby , where get together could be held. Close to the beach , with a dance floor , and a venue for beach games.My company takes us out for parties every month. Every time we had a party , we came here to this place atop the restaurant. The place is just perfect. Usually they charge Rs.400 per head for get-togethers. You will be provided with welcome drinks, tea and snacks all inclusive of the package. Here is a hint, you can get your own liquor but beer should be bought there exclusively. You can get your own music system, and have a blast. For an extra charge ( Rs. 2500 / - only) they will provide you a music system , with CD's and a DJ. You can also order for snacks , both veg and non-veg, Service takes a little time, so the best way to deal with this is you can place your order even before you get there, by email or by phone. Just inform them what time you would like to have your dinner, and its is served right on time.
Even before you can start getting alcohol in your bloodstream, which usually happens after sunset, you can play a variety of games. Cricket ,volleyball, football. all this comes in the get together package. Just have fun while you are there. Cricket is the favorite among my colleagues. The women usually just stick to tennicoit. If your idea of fun , is getting messy , take the frisbee and play it by the sea. Here is a hint, dive when you catch the frisbee. Dive specifically into the waves.
Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi
In your swimsuit, sun glasses on , a hat , sipping Ice tea and let the warm water current hit in a mild force makes a perfect relaxation.Jaccuzzi eliminates stress from your toes till your neck. Be there for 10 minutes to an hour and be rest assured you are going to have a great week ahead of you. One word of warning though, Jacuzzi is pretty expensive and once you experience this great healing power , you really want to get more. I miss Jacuzzi. the best
swimming pool is very well maintained and clean. The depth ranges from 5 feet to 12 feet. There is a seperate pool for kids, which is deep 2 feet to 4 feet.
There are lifebouys, Life guard , and a swimming instructor. You can also play water volleyball. If you are a bunch of close friends, what more can you ask for. Just splash water on each other, or play my favorite game - Drown each other.
MGM dizee world
MGM dizee world has everything that resembles close to an amusement park.Spread out on 25 acre land they have Giant wheels, Roller coaster, Rainbow rides , Mini Train rides,Bumper cars , water chutes, weeeeeeeeeee, whole lotta fun, you name it . Well this sounds like amusement for kids. Would you think that you too old to try all this. I dont know about others, but surely this brings out the kid in me. Although my dream in life is the kiss the floor in Disney Land, this place is somewhat close.
Health Spa
The ultimate feature here is you have the Kerala Ayurvedic health Spa. With massage therapist trained in kerala massage techniques , to relieve you of stress, arthritis, diabetes, chronic headaches and migraines. Before you undergo any of the massage treatments , you need to consult the doctor. The massage oils are brought in from kerala for different applications of the massage. They are made from herbs and tree barks. Most of the Holiday or weekend Packages include a visit to the health spa in their complimentary List.
Choose MGM if.......
1. You are with a group of friends, between 4 and ____ ( you can fill that blank)
2. You want to have a good time with your family or friends or both.
3. You are very jovial , fun loving dont mind getting messy. MGM beach resorts have just the right things for you to have complete fun.
Dont Choose MGM if ...
1. You are alone , or with with two or three friends.
2. Assuming you have taken point # 1 in the Choose MGM if....... section, I dont recommend this, if the only idea of you weekend is just to lie around watch movies with minimum or less activity. Then its not worth spending so much money.
Final words
Monday Morning back at office, one look at you, your colleague can tell you that you had a great weekend. All this is conditional, if only you have utilized all the features mentioned.
