My name is Gururaj Nayak, I served this company for about 5 years in the early years . I have to say that most of the reviews and comments here on mouthshut are true(85%) another 15% is exagerration or could be far away from truth,
Salary & Benefits: This company wants best of talent for 1/2 the price, please avoid this company if you want salary and perks. I have seen people grow in thei company but not salary wise, it puts question mark when you apply for job in outside market.
Career Growth: As far as you are in good team, you can stick to it and learn and grow, but this was the case in earlier times, but now I heard the people are shuffled out very often and hence high attrition in the company. I heard GE works are reducing for some reasons. Many other new companies are getting GE works, all the knowledge built in earlier days are gone, thanks to top management who sack people even to save few thousands of rupees.
CEO Rating: Now why do you want to know if CEO is good or bad, just like many CEO's he's smart with'young' tag, can't say much as he is not saying truth to his trusted employees for last 13 odd years, the board is just made of up Ajit & Aravind family. So as many have commented, you only feel that you are making two famlies richer every year.
Job Security: Well like any company of IT, there's no job security, it's crime to expect salary w/o sweating. But in Quest, many good hard working people have been laid off, some very experienced. The job security is worst at QUEST some exceptions to Ajit/Aravind friends circle.
In this company either you should allign yourself to so called core values of owners whims & styles of Ajit & Ajay & their clout(Aravind involves only in manufacturing) or get out of the company. Remotely you will feel that you have compromised something in life for these dis-honest owners, if you are OK then this company may fit, but your freq. should match with that of owners of the company.
Work Environment: Quest works at three facilities all are OK, but being a stingy company don't expect tea/coffee at 10PM. HR department is not good, much has been said about HR in mouthshut.com, it is was first led by womaniser Srinivas Chakravarthi, then it was lead by Natarajan iyer, another useless liar, and now I guess it is led by Sonia(probably worst of all).
Top management is not facilitating good employee policies, hence attrition is high. Leadership is only limited to Ajit & Aravind, anyone close to them are knocked off immediately and conviniently. One such ouster was done to Pravin Gurav, who sigle handedly streered the company from dozen to about 800 odd strength. So essentially any one intelligent hardworking will also find Quest as they will lap all what you offer and they will throw you w/o thanks!
Advice: For FEA/Stress Engineers, there are hell no. of avenues through out the country, big companies like TCS/WIPRO/SATYAM are good companies as they have better employee policies. There are lot of OEM companies having R&D hub in India as well. So if you are looking for FEA/Stress Career better avoid this company, it's worst of all so far(heard/felt).
Engineering services were earlier limited to smaller and medium companies as major IT companies saw little business traction, but now engg. services is huge industry and all major IT companies have bigger role. So more people are now in large IT companies Engg. services department. Apart from these gaints, FEA/Stress engineers can seek jobs in OEMs and R&D centres.
