PNB Patpargang, New Delhi is awesome. Review on Punjab National Bank

Here I am giving some mind blowing reviews about Punjab National Bank, Patpargang, New Delhi branch and will compare its services with other branch of PNB, PNB Haldwani (Uttaranchal) .

I am a salaried person and so planed to open for my PPF account. Till that time (1.5 yrs back) we can have PPF account only in public sector bank. After thinking, I decided to open an account with SBI as it has largest branches all over India.

I went to SBI, Sushant Lok, sector 43, Gurgaon (Haryana) and had discussion with the concerned person. His attitude showed that he doesn’t want me to open an account in that branch. He told all the negative aspects of PPF account like I can’t access Internet banking, no phone banking facility, etc., etc and at last he refused to open an account after saying that, "you don’t have any permanent address proof".

As I was staying in East Delhi so I planned to open an account with PNB, Patpargang, New Delhi.

1 saturday I went there and was surprised after looking at the crowd gathered in that branch.

First I went to Branch Manager’s cabin and asked to open PPF account. He told me about the concerned person. I submitted all my legal documents along with the amount deposited on the same day. I was very happy with the services of the branch. And next saturday I got my pass book without any problem. I told good services by bank because the concerned person arrnanged the guarantor for me afer seeing my legal documents (it was a big surprise for me as I didn’t hav to struggle to find out some guarantor)

After some time, I planned to transfer my account from Delhi to Haldwani (Uttarakhand) so I submitted account transfer application along with the pass book and took photo copy of my application and pass book.

Within a week, they sent all the relevent documents to the PNB, Haldwani branch . Now the main problem came into picture.

When the account got transfrred I went to PNB, Haldwani and asked about the PPF account. The person was shocked after my question and immediately said that he is not the concern person (the concern person is on leave. :) great na!!) and ask me to come on Monday (first time, I went on Wednesday). Monday again I went to the branch, this time he referred me to soem person and told that he is the concern person. another person again sent me to the concern person and told that he is the only 1 responsible for this type of account.

After long wait, finally I came to know my new account number but I wanted the pass book as well. Only knowing the account number is not sufficient. So I asked for the pass book. Again, he showed the attitude telling that pass books got finished and they will send new order and as and when they get it they will update the account detail in the pass book.

Exactly after 1 year I got the pass book after discussing with the Branch Manager.

I still think, it was a big mistake from my side to transfer my PPF account from PNB Patpargang to PNB Haldwani but Haldwani is my native city so I dont have much choice.
