PROVOQUE, (this means the beautiful one in French), make very nice clothing. There 'mission statement' says ' we will make beautiful cloths so our collection will attract people from around the World.'

They began to make clothing for Women and Men in the 1990's who are young and working, (so they could afford to buy new cloths every time a trend changed).

They wanted to make cloths that could take you right from the office to a party by adding a few accessories of opening a skirt's slit higher by using a hidden zipper.

When they started they came up with an entire range of unusual product. Trousers could be rolled up to 3/4 of their length and making them into shorts. A long skirt could me made into a mini skirt.

Provoque could make this happen because the cloth that they use is made from a new lightweight polyester-based fabric. The colors were fabulous and ranged from turquoise, forest and bright green, orange, bright red, navy blue and cream. The shirts, pants and skirts are designed for people to mix and match the colors.

When I was younger and could get into their cloths when I was in Singapore the first time. I bought a skirt, (not the one that could make into a mini the one that makes the slit longer), and a blouse. The skirt was in hot pink and the blouse if orange, (you wouldn't think that these colors would look well together but they did). I found that it was easy to keep them clean because it was made of polyester.

Shiv Karan spokes person for Provogue, 'feels that this East Indian Company fashions can meet the standards required by chic people'.

I read in the International Herald Tribune 'that the first fashion show had a background designed to make you feel like you were in Soho.'

They used a top male Indian model, Fardeen Khan, to wear their men's wear. At one fashion show the stage and ramp was bare, spot lights began to move every where. Each light stopped at a model sitting in a chair! One stood up and began to strut the catwalk to model the cloths they were wearing. When that person left the stage the next model walked the ramp. It was reported that 'many TV personalities and Business People were the models at this show'. As I read this report it sounded like it must have been a 'hoot' both for the audience and the models.

Each season the cloths for Men are simple pants, shirts and sports jackets all designed in different patterns and designs. They always can be interchanged to broaden a wardrobe.

The cloths for Women have sleek line that can go from the office to a party, comfortable casual clothes, (I call this chic casual) and well as lucre, knit or metallic material that are meant to be worn only at parties. Once again the colors and patterned cloths come in a variety of colors that match one another.

SOME THOUGHTS:

If you want to see what one of the Men's Shirts looks like I believe 'asyis' is wearing one in his picture on his home page!

I wore my skirt and blouse until I wore holes in them. They were cozy and comfortable it felt like they were designed just for me.

I wish I was younger, thinner and still working so that I could travel and buy some more cloths made by Proboque. If you are in Asia and see this label I hope you will try the on the item as I am sure if it fits you, you will buy it.
