Priyan Got it Right. Review on Priyadarshan

I always praise a person who dare to do something different and that different is reasonably logical. Priyadarshan is one example of those people. Right from the start of his career he is been awesome and people who watch movies critically acclaim him as an accomplished movie maker.

From his start with the film Poochakkoru Mookkuthi(in Malayalam) in 1984 he has created his audience and people in South understood his style and admired him and from then he never looked back. In all his till date released 52 directorial ventures he has given in some extraordinary which has made his ordinary looking film a special one. In 1992 he debut in Hindi Cinema with film named Muskurahat(starring: Anu Kapoor & Amrish Puri). After that he joined with Jackie Sharof and made Gardish in 1993 cant get his kind of audience and the film flopped and Priyan went off screen from Hindi Cinema and came back in Kala Pani in 1996 which was a fabulous film and the sensitivity and Tabu’s acting makes it more superior film.

Then comes Virasat & Saat Rang Ke Sapne in 1997 first was hit the second one was flopped. In 1998 Kabhi Na Kabhi & Doli Saja Ke Rakhna released both flopped and with that Priyan decided to change his mode for making films and then comes the quality comedy movie Hera Pheri in 2000. In 2001 he had soft comedy Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar. Then he joined hands with Venus Tapes and Records and given us Hungama in 2003 Hulchul in 2004 and Garam Masala in 2005 along with Kyunki.

1) Garam Masala

Latest and the best. I simply loved this film coz of its simplicity. Priyan has quality being director that he put his level best to omit overacting in his movies to increase decency in his films. Similarly he has took care about most of the aspects which lead the film to right path. Another thing in the film was that the film has got a simple story or I can say a very ordinary story it was Priyan who create interest in the film and controlled each and every part of the movie carefully. Actually he was the writer of the story himself so he molded it accordingly as he found it better which made the film more interesting and meaningful in the end. He is now proved as Comedy specialist and with this movie the expectations for his upcoming venture Malamaal Weekly.

2) Hulchul

No doubt it was among the best films last year. The movie includes many characters and each character was filmed in a manner that it proved itself on screen with its presence and with quality of acting. A grand movie which was very well controlled by Priyan. Some outstanding serious jokes were sentenced in a manner that gives the audience an impact that the director worked on his script much. A well controlled and balanced movie.

3) Hera Pheri

I first time noticed Priyan after this film. Some extraordinary comedy was put in this movie that made me to notice the director of the movie. Three people having their problems and get a chance to create hundred thousand rupees and they do some acts which indeed was interesting and it was most interesting only due to the director seat hold by Priyan. Otherwise similar type of topic with some variations was attempted by Ram Gopal Verma in his Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Kare Ga

4) Virasat

Ravi K Chandarn was the man who was noticed with this film. A team of Priyan and Ravi K Chandarn had given us quality and standards which we only witness in Hollywood movies. It was the directors control over the movie that Ravi was able to give the standard and need scenes captured with additional flavour given by the editor who has given some of his quality work. I would give you an example with the scene when Anil Kapoor went out to meet the Punchaayat and the bowl full of water from Tabu’s hands dropped on floor and its drops fell on the Dhoti of Anil Kapoor and the scene was matched with the scene as he put his leg out of car into mud. If you got that I am sure you would also love that scene. Though it has nothing of importance but that is what is called as professionalism and perfection. A simple stunner.

5) Gardish

The film is all about family and relationships and more precisely relationship of father and son. The film got a some top class moments which needs to felt and those could only be felt by those people who are sensitive and it was Priyan who put his a lot of effort to produce that sensitivity. The movie has only one drawback that it was made on small scale and I am sure that after few coming years anybody would modify this idea and put in front of public. As the coming time is suspected to lose the charm which we are enjoying as living with parents and family. I guess the film was very well made and one of my favourite of all times.

Priyan is more most successful as he is also writer of his most of films which gives him room to specialized the subject of the movie while making and in the end we got some super quality movies. If by chance anytime Priyan read this review I wish him best of luck and all the success in life.
