This is a soft memoir of Ms. Nayantara Sahegal of her childhood. The book without much political bragging of Nehru dynasty takes you to the era of pre-independence through the eyes of a sweet little girl. You will be soaked in the stories of politics and history.
The lucid writing of incidences describes her growing years in Anand Bhavan, Allahabad. The book is particularly a delightful read for its narration style. The stories of Nehru family during freedom fight, her stay in abroad and the struggle of the family which faced during freedom fight. It’s a tribute from the little child who witnessed the story of independence that began from Allahabad and ended with the assassination of Mahtama Gandhi. If you are generally interested in history, then its good read.
