Story:

Princess conveys the way Muslim women in Saudi Arabia are treated by men. The women there are physically abused, have no say whatsoever and are conquered by their husbands. Sultana-which of course is not the real name of this inspiring Princess-lets us through her life and what she has experienced and witnessed of female existence in her homeland. She is disgusted by the way in which men treat women in such a treacherous and discriminate way. Although Sultana believes this, she is a very lucky Saudi Arabian woman because of her marriage to Kareem, a loyal and understanding man who agrees for the rights of women. Kareem is a man who treats his wife and their two daughters and son fairly. I believe their son Abdullah-the eldest child-grows up to be a duplicate of Kareem, personality wise. I think Maha-the middle child-is very like Sultana. She is courageous and self believing. Amani-the youngest-is a very religious girl. She can upset the family with her extremely strong faith with Allah. She often tells her family or in fact anyone off who in which disobeys what Prophet Mohammed has exemplified or what the Koran speaks. Amani can be a worry to he family.

Princess is written by Jean Sasson regarding the life’s of Saudi Arabian women. This book has been composed through the correspondence of 'Sultana', a Saudi Arabian princess with Jean Sasson an American writer.

Princess is a marvellous book and I congratulate Jean Sasson for publishing such a mesmerizing novel. Sultana is to be praised with all of our hearts for sharing her story as a Princess of Saudi Arabia. If Sultana were not a royal I don’t believe that people would’ve caught her story.

I absolutely adore Jean Sasson’s writing style. Her metaphors and similes are of the finest and the way she captures your attention makes you want to keep reading forever and ever.

Sultana must be a very spirited woman with the way that she has demonstrated herself through her life, it shows quite clearly in this novel. To be a woman of such strengths in a male dominated land must take so much bravery and effort.

I have also read Daughters of Arabia by Jean Sasson. This book carries on Sultana’s story. It is based more on her kid’s and other kids generation. I loved this book also. I am currently reading Desert Royal, which is the third book, and from what I have read so far the inspiring story hasn’t twinkled out.

I hope you all get a chance to read Princess, Daughters of Arabia and Desert Royal. These beautifully written books will captivate you!
