The four sounds that never failed to fascinate me as a kid were the whistle of a railway engine, that of the policeman at the crossing, the romeos at the street corner next to the women's college practising their skill; and the Prestige Pressure Cooker whistling in my mom's kitchen announcing that dinner was ready! The last named continues to be the MFN (most favoured noise) in our household. When did we buy our Prestige Pressure Cooker? I think it has been ages! The present Super Hi-Dome 7.5 litres we use was bought in exchange of the 5.5 litre model we had earlier, and we had paid just 200 bucks extra. All that I spend on it now is a gasket or a safety plug once in a while. I miss the 'plug and pintel' of olden days, though.The handle needs repair once in a couple of years. But our Prestige Pressure Cooker continues to go strong : notwithstanding the microwave and the rice cooker at home. Power Failures ? Unannounced Guests ? Wife gone maikaa ?No problem. Prestige Pressure Cooker Hai Naaa ? It manages to turn out 'no hassles' food in a jiffy without loss of moisture, flavor,aroma ... or temper. Now the question is, 'Why only Prestige ?' Well, the trusted name and the trustworthy performance are unparallelled. But more importantly, you don't have to dip the lid into your rice,...ugh...like Hawkins. Prestige Pressure Cooker is now exported to the U S A and other Western countries, but with a different name: the MANTTRA, signifying the Prestige and Magic of India.
