Before my birth my mom was using one 5 litre PRESTIGE DELIGHT model cooker. At that time it was with hissing type of whistling system. There was no loud whistling. One day safety valve fused. As we belong from rural area, there was no proper authorised dealer, so she had to forced to repair it through a local centre. The cooker was alright.
One day, when some dal was cooking, it blusted and my mom was savwd as she was not there t that time. I am sure at this happened due to the se of spurious safety valve. Then the cooker was repired from dealer(town).
Since then it was not working properly. Then after 15 years of that accident I took the responsibility to make it proper. In this time interval of 15 years mom bought HAWKINS and used it and she lost belive from PRESTIGE company.
I went to the dealer at KOLKATA and got it repaired properly with genuene prts. From that time the cooker is working as newer one. Now in 2010, the cooker completed it's 30 year in our home.
Cooker body is very very good. When I asked the dealer that it is old, I want to replace it. He told not to do that at this moment, until it stops working. So I am using it.
But I went to PRESTIGE show room to find new model. But one thing I want to say is that POPULAR MODEL is too much lighter comparing to their cost. Lid in all new PRESTIGE model is too too much lighter. I have compared with other renound outerlid cooker company like UNITED, HARSH, IDEAL, PREMIER. So, I bought one HARSH pressure pan. Belive me it is good and ISI recognised.
I have a request to the company that please increse the weight of your vessel ad lid.
Otherwise your company is good.
But unfortunately my mom has to replace the cooker due to some problem as the cooker is very old. As I have discussed previously that the dealer told me not to replace the cooker with new Prestige as new vessels are not so good like old one. But there is no way and my mom has to replace the cooker.
On that day I went with mom to the dealer. We decided to buy new cooker with Prestige company. We find different models of the company but we felt that there is some problem in finishing the cooker itself that is we felt that may be there is some manufacturing defect. Then we selected one senior pressure pan with deluxe model and almost going to pay, but at that time I told the shop keeper that please inform us that is this okay? Is this good? Will there be any problem in future as I have faced. Then the dealer told one thing which I never forget in my life! Please see the dealer is Prestige dealer and he must try to sale this company as it would be his profit. but ultimately the dealer told us.
NO NO.YOU PLS GO FOR HAWKINS.PLS.I CAN NOT ASSURE U.BUT FOR HAWKINS. I CAN MAKE ASSURE YOU THAT IT WOULD BE WORTHY BUYING. AND THEN.
We opt for HAWKINS.and replaced the Prestige cooker with a costly model of Hawkins.
I have two question to Prestige company.
1) WHY THIS IS HAPPENING?
2) PLEASE INCREASE THE WEIGHT OF YOUR VESSELS AND RELAUNCH THE OLD SAFETY VALVE SYSTEM FOR ALL DELUXE MODELS AS THE OLD SYSTEM IS FOUND IN POPULAR MODEL.
3) PLEASE RELAUNCH THE WEIGHT VALVE SYSTEM WHICH WAS FOUND DURING 1995.
I THINK YOUR COMPANY IS GOING TO LOOSE THE BELIEVE OF GLORIOUS DAY FOR PRESTIGE.
PLEASE CHANGE IT.
I have one more information to add here.
Recently I have bought one Prestige Popular 2 ltr cooker for my mess use.
I am astonished to see the difference.it is nice.very good. Service is good. I think Prestige is changing its quality, but again speaking price is too too too much high, not necessary.
Please think about it.
Recently I have read many reviews regarding PRESTIGE cooker, and unfortunately all are negative.why this is happening? Company has to answer as we are your customer.
ANOTHER THING TOADD AGAIN. WHICH IS NEGATIVE!1
RECENTLY I BOUGHT TWO PRESTIGE COOKER FROM BIGBAZAR, KOLKATA(ONE IS 3 LTR OUTER LID STAINLESS STEEL, ANOTHER IS APPLE DELUXE PLUS 5 LTR RED). UNFORTUNATELY THE APPLE ONE IS DEFECTIVE AND THE BIGBAZAR DENIED TO REPLACE IT BACK AND I HAVE TO USE IT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT, PRESSURE IS RELEASED AT THE SIDE OF THE LID. NOT ALL THE TIME. BUT 3 IN 5 TIMES YOU COOK IN THE COOKER, YOU WIIL FACE THE PROBLEM OF LEAKAGE. THIS IS REALLY FRUSTRATING THING FORM PRESTIGE!
