Lets face it - "The Prestige" is not for everyone. One needs to have a lot of patience to watch a film like this. It starts off on a lazy note...but it somehow grows on you and when you leave the multiplex/hall (after watching it), it leaves an impact.
The story revolves around two magicians and their competition...their ways to outwit each other. Honestly, neither do you have any expectations from the movie when you go to watch it nor do you understand the first 20-25 minutes of the film. Both these things work in the favour of the movie. The climax is fantastic and only after watching it, you realise that "The Prestige" is a classic piece of work.
The direction and performances take you by surprise. There are some flaws, though! The editing could have been tighter. It does have a slow pace and tends to get boring in a few scenes. Nevertheless, go for it. It is a highly gripping and interesting movie. One of the best english movies I have seen!!!
