CADILLAC STS Defective Brake Materials. My Cadillac STS was sitting in my garage in NY for a few weeks and when I tried to back out...the car would not move.
The emergency brake was never applied while vehicle is parked in garage. The local GM Cadillac Dealer stated that it was the transmission and they would dispatch a tow truck. My Cadillac STS was taken to the local GM Cadillac Dealer.
Diagnosis: Front brakes were locked up (brake materials frozen together). The GM DEALER advised that he has seen this GM "defect" before! As the brakes are not covered under the Cadillac extended warranty, I was charged for the front brake job plus the tow charge.
I really ENJOY paying for all of the General Motors Factory Defects I have experienced on my CADILLAC, TAHOE and SATURN. Good luck to those who have been unfortunate enough to have also been "GM Families". The bad stories and comments on General Motors Quality, Service and Customer Care (?) have escalated over the last few years. I do not think that bankruptcy will help their negative issues...too many employees and customers are sick of General Motors attitude. If you want to contact Customer Service...GOOD LUCK...It is in the Philippines!
