I happened to visit Prasad's Multiplex a cuple of weeks back. The complex is huge when u look at it from outside and it sort of increased my interest in it even before I could go anywhere near the theatre
Unfortunately, I happened to visit the theatre during a week end and the crowds there would put a political procession to shame. There was hardly any space left in this huge complex. It houses a restaurant (Ohris), plenty of shops , a I MAX screen and 4 other ordinary screens ; plus there are also some play for kids.
With such diverse activities goin on concurrently at any point of time, the big building suddenly looked small. The parking lot was full and the parking attendants were of not much help. It was complete chaos out there ( Hyderabadis seem to have an unwritten traffic rule which is completely opposite the statutory rules and the best part is that 9 out of 10 drivers violate traffic rules with disdain).
The ubiquitous autowallahs were of no help either. The only area surrounding the complex where autos were not parked was the pavement which the autowallahs megnanimously offered for the poor pedestrians to inch their way
But the multiplex sure is worth a visit for its sheer style and size. The restaurant food was nothing to brag about. The tickets are priced at Rs. 60 which is very very reasonable. But as soon as we entered the cinema hall, I found myself in a completely new world away from teh chaos outside. It was not a big hall but very clean and well maintained. I found to my discomfort that the leg space was very minimal though the seats were comfortable.
But watching movie in Prasad's is defenitely a new experience different from all the ordinary cinema halls. The movie though was pathetic ( maybe I could write a review on that in a seperate section.. :)
