I have mixed experience on Quality of their service. I own Pulsar 150 DTSI 2004 model. I did not purchase this from popular.
I had used their services for two years(6-8 times). One of the main reasons why I always go there was that it was closest to my home(4.5km). There was no other authorized service station in vicinity. It was not because there service was outstanding.
Service Quality:
Overall Average(well, on the lower side of average): At times I had issues and on other instance service was just fine. Issues I had were not major in nature. Like breaks are loose, or like tuning is not proper and engine would stop between changing gears. Correcting these problems were easy so I corrected them on my own. I actually has go in opposite direction to my office to go there, so avoided going there for smaller issues.
Service Staff -
Overall Average - Staff in general is seems very helpful. Never had instances where the staff misbehaved. Only issue with them is that they are trained** to report more problems then there is with the bike. Every time you go for services, they will recommend you at least two three thing which will cost Rs 400-500 extra than you would incur otherwise. On average service costs for me was about Rs 1000 for each service. This is at least Rs 400-500 more than compared to service centers in other cities.So while dealing with them you should be smart enough to understand if a particular recommendation by service adviser is required or not. Well, Apparently I was not smart enough so every time I ended up paying around Rs 1000.
Well, it was till last Feb’2010. We had another bike service center open nearby our house. I took my bike there and the service was good. My bike was serviced for Rs 546 Only.
Moral of the Story – If you good knowledge on automobiles, especially on bikes. Get you bikes services with them. You will be overall satisfied(some or other issues will always be there on all service centers). But if you have some other tried and tested services center ditch popular service.
