There was an offer on a combination of products by Poonam furniture on 20th Sep 2009. Immediately dropped in Sheshadripuram branch and confirmed an order for a sofaset(3+1+1), 4 chair dining table, a teapoy and a TV stand for Rs.32500/-. Gave an advance of Rs.15K.
The package price went up since I chose better quality items by trading off with some of the standard products in the offer. Since the TV stand was readily available, they shipped it the same day!
Here comes the issue of that elusive delivery for the remaining items!
In the receipt, the delivery time was mentioned as 30 days. Being curious, I called after 15 days and they confirmed that the products will be delivered by the weekend. Was very excited! Maybe they tried to delight the customer but that didn't happen because of workers taking leave for Deepavali festival.
Postponing went on till the deadline of 30 days. Not much progress!
One day, I just told them my unhappiness and requested them to pay the advance back so that I will look for those items with someone else even at higher price. By that time, the order was almost completed and they promised to ship within a day or two.
Finally on Nov 2, I received all the products at 11.30pm. 6 people came in a truck and set things for me.
To sum up, there was a delay of 10-12 days against the committed date.
The products are very good and the finish is excellent. It is a good value for money. Later they called to check if I was happy and ensured their service in case of any problem.
Suggested them to keep up the good work on quality but improve upon commitments to the customer.
Would recommend to someone but he must have some patience to deal with delay in delivery which was luckily not more than 12 days for me. I would have been happier if they didn't promise to deliver before the committed date but that is not very significant when I see the value I have got.
