This is one of the worst company to work for. It has one of the worst HR policies of all the companies. The people sitting in the HR think they are running their own kingdom. They change rules as and when they like according to their convenience. Some of the examples
Three months notice period even at the Junior levels.
Strict adherance to entry time(8:30 AM) for office but no limit for End of day. If you are late even by 1 minute you get memo
Lowest salary in the market
Salary cuts across the organization which is followed by a Year on Year Profit increase mail
Distributing addendums to HR policies which states you should not join this company, that company after quiting Polaris, company can put you in any international location for any amount of time but you cannot resign or return unless company says so and also employees are forced to sign the above document and give it to HR.
Per-diem cuts by 5 USD across Geographies. Reason stated was Dip in real estate rates. But company only provides accomodation and the meagre per-diem provided is used only for food for which rate only increases and never goes down.
Earn leave deducted for not entering timesheet before end of day friday for the week. On monday previous week timesheet will be disabled no matter if you fall sick on Friday you are gone and lose 1 day EL . If you have exhausted all your earn leaves your salary will be deducted. If HR deducts earn leave by mistake it is never credited back.
Pay structure is pathetic. Senior management gets a very high pay plus perks like car, sponsored tours etc whereas middle management and junior employees get nothing plus they are mostly stripped of their APDP(Performance based pay) even dueing boom time and if required their pay itself for not entering timesheet etc
Apart from this each and every one of your activity will be closely monitored by HR as if you are in some prison or concentration camp.
Not even basic facilities like internet is given to employees for going about their day to day work and it is called an IT company
The list goes on and on and on. there is never an end to it. This company looks for only profit, profit and profit by hook or crook. I am an employee of this lousy company and I am unable to get out only because of their notice period policy.
Dress code on Mondays is pathetic. No matter even in the seering heat of Chennai Summer employees are forced to wear full sleeves shirt with tie also and the HR person shamelessly goes around checking whether everyone is wearing a tie like a PT master in schools.(added after review by a fellow employee)
Another of their foolhardy policies is that if they give hike to an employee, only 50% of the hike is effective from that quarter and the remaining 50% effective only from the next quarter. Suppose an employee gets 50000 hike. only 25000 is effective from that quarter. Reduce APDP only 22500 will be effective and divide it by 12. He wont even get 1200 rupees hike per month after deductions for that quarter then what is the use of giving Hike?
If someone need to ask me whether they can join
in this company I would say "please for god sake stay away because it will be a trap of your lifetime". This company is a total Jungle Raj with no ethics whatsoever.
