?POL KHOL? has been on STAR T.V. News Channel for a very long time. It airs on Saturday and Sunday 10.30 pm. It is one of humorous shows based on politics hosted by SHEKHAR SUMAN. Shekhar who on the lines of Jay Leno has hosted previously many programs like Movers& Shakers, Simply Sekhar..M & S indeed was his comeback vehicle after he was not accepted in Bollywood.
In Pol Khol, Shekhar deals mainly with politicians and their antics. He brings out the darker side of them in a lighter vein. He unveils the happenings behind the political scene and often catches politicians unawares. He and his team have really made this show worth watching.
The 2 main Characters are Shekaru (Shekar) and Bandaru(Animated monkey) who talk to each other about the recent developments on Indian political scene. This show is fun whenever the elections are around the corner. Since Bihar, Haryana are going soon for State Polls, Shekhar brings out the happenings during the poll campaign.
1.He shows the picture how the Congress candidates in Haryana have used
SONIA GANDHI & RAHUL Gandhi?s photo along with theirs but have completely ignored our P.M. Dr.Manmohan Singh. When Pol khol team asked Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Motilal Vora ?Senior Congress leaders and also Madam Ambika Soni, they assert that Sonia is only saviour of Congress Party.
2.Navjot Singh Sidhu is also actively campaigning for BJP in Haryana. Shekhar remarks how Sidhu uses his usual Sidhuism?here he speaks of union of Atma and Parmatma and meaning of Gayatri Mantra and did not even once ask for votes. The video of Sidhu is hilarious with his actions ?song & dance ?.Its is really sad that the state of politics in India has degenerated to such an extent.
3.Again in Haryana, the question is who will be the C.M. if Congress comes to power??
Who else but the OLD CHANAKYA OF INDIAN POLITICS?Shri BAJAN LAL.
Shekhar has wacky sense of humor when he says Lal who was once C.M. 11yrs back was with Janata party. Then he dissected to join Congress.
4.In Bihar, the kidnapping of school children has become major electoral issue. Shekhar shows the mudslinging between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Atalji.
Also shown is sad face of Shotgun(shatrugan sinha) who has never got his due from the BJP bigwigs. Pol Khol Team do try to ask him why he was not projected as the would be C.M. from BJP? To this he sadly remarks, ?HUM KARYA KARTA BANKE BIHAR MEIN JAYENGE, RAJYA KARTA NAHI?.
IN the last segment of the program, Shekhar replies to the questions asked by the viewers. One viewer asked him why is Ram Vilas Paswan taking a look alike of Osama Bin Laden with him during poll campaign? Shekhar promptly replies, as People will come atleast to see the look alike if not Paswan.
In one of the earlier episodes, when Pol khol Team visits some politicians at BJP quarters, the camera focuses on Shah Nawaz Hussain-the ex Minister of Civil Aviation. He is so scared that he forbids others from speaking and says ? Yeh log to humara pol khol denge!?
If u really are in a mood to enjoy this time-pass serial, do watch. Much relief from the Kekta types and u are guaranteed that Shekhar will not hog the entire limelight.
