All those bookaholics who would have read such classics like Treasure island and kidnapped would be familiar with this phrase and I wonder if they havent played Pirate making thier bed as a ship

Captain Jack has resumed command of his dark vessel, The Black Pearl

Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) A man-octopus who gives dead sailors a 100 year lease of life in eventual exchange for their souls,, in exchange for captaining the Black Pearl for 13 years, had promised his soul to Davy Jones.

Character Analysis

Jack sparrow is being hailed as one of the Characters of the century by the media far fetched ? no I completely agree

Brilliantly played by johhny deppSparrow is cowardly, deceitful, unashamed and, despite what Elizabeth says, he doesn't believe in any redeeming virtues and that is what enderas him he is not your regular blood thirsty violent sadistic pirate

He's a magnificent, utterly original character, and descriptive words honestly cannot do him justice

Everything about him is so lovable his dialect( savvy ?) his funny one liners remind me of perice brosnan’s one liners in his bonf movies they are delivered with panache

His swagger, the bottle of rum in one hand his utter lack of taking life seriously makes us wish to be a pirate and not to have a care in the world I think he has created an aura of fantasy around the ptrate character

Johhny depp breathes life into the character there is a certain realness to him I personally cannot imagine will smith or tom cruise or colin farrel in the role jacks magnetism would have been scarificed jack sparrow is not a Casanova or hunk he is a lovable pirate which requires a johhny depp not the above mentioned

Even when Jack isn't on screen, he is unfailingly the subject of the scene

I personally rated the performance as one of the best I have seen and I can tell you I really analyse performances in depth

Will turner (Orlando bloom)

Orlando bloom is efficient and is clinical about his work he does his supporting job well the movie is as much about him as jack sparrow but lets face it he plays second fiddle to jack sparrow however he has the potential as he is a pivotal character no doubt

Essential to the story since whatever said and done jack sparrow is still a rogue and Orlando bloom provides us a true goody goody hero

Elizabeth Swain (Kiera Knightley)

I liked her in the movie her charcter has spunk in it like Rachel weiz’s character in the mummy

She is not your typical herpoine who just faints when she sees blood Elizabeth is sounky she has brains

She is not intimidated by men she has an urge for adventure since she falls headlong into it !

She is madly in love with will turner but she cant help admire the rascal jack but she has a clear cut idea of the line between good and and this is where she differs with jack sparrow

In fact you almost get the feeling that she loves the sea and would be probably become a sailor or crew member

The plot has enough hints in it for you to pick that up

Every movie needs a larger than life chilling villain and that my friends is provided as Davy Hones the baddest,most sadistic, pirate of them all .he us not human mind it( see his get up in the movie )

Bill Nighy is fantastic, a wet devil who plays a pipe organ with his beard of tentacles. His Davy Jones provokes both shudders and laughs

He is chilling but not to the point of scaring your wits off like Anthony Hopkins portrayal of Hannibal the cannibal

He is the complete antithesis of jack sparrow he is deadly ruthless and sadistic the ideal villain to Orlando bloom’s character

Sneak Peek (scenes)

there's a lot of screaming, very roller-coaster ride stuff as Sparrow almost ends up as fruit-salad for cannibals and Will duels Norrington atop a gigantic wheel with Sparrow trying to keep up a hamster act within. The action is crazy and outlandish

Obviously a film like Dead Man's Chest isn't taking itself seriously, which makes the madcap action and even the near-constant predictability more tolerable,

The pace of the movie is amazing it sweeps you what I liked about the movie is that its good as a whole not in parts like some movies which have a great opening and then tapers off

Even critics are hailing the unbelievably successful Pirates franchise as this generation's Star Wars: a bunch of exaggerated characters in a vaguely familiar (fictionally speaking) era gradually developing their own muddled mythology

So put your pirate cap on put up your sails drop anchor in your couch and lets go hit the sea!
