The review is going to be short, because there is not much to write about ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean: At worlds End’
The movie starts off with a quest to find Jack Sparrow, A new variant is that it has a Chinese twist with Chow Yun-Fat pitching in as a Pirate Lord from Singapore. However he does not demonstrate any Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon stunts. In line with the rest of the cast all he does is talk talk talk…
Lots of battles at sea laced with bloodless violence, But none of the key pirates in the movie ever get injured till the end. Never ending prolonged dialogues, which if you didn’t catch does not matter, cause they do not have much of a connection with the next scene.
You keep waiting anticipating for a story line to catch on, however till the end it never does. It’s a nonstop occurrence of events involving searches for maps and keys, peppered with battles involving the Soldiers of the East India Company and pirates. A variety of them this time. The photography and graphics are good, but nothing extraordinary.
Towards the end the events get so bizarre, People getting married in the middle of a sword fight. Ships that are almost getting wrecked in the high seas after a fight come back to normal state on calm waters with all sailors on board. A total mockery of the audience who paid good money expecting some entertainment. It appears the director started filming without any script in hand and ended up packing in 3 hours of total mayhem.
Towards the end of the movie you are just waiting for it to end. In short if you missed getting a ticket for the movie you didn’t lose anything, rather just gained an evening.
