I just happened to see this movie today (again) which I saw with great enthusiasm and attention. And also read the review by madlalya on this site. So I wont go in detail as madlalya has covered it very well. Just to add, that the great songs of this movie were lyricised by Jagdish Khebudkar, a well know Marathi lyricist.
However, I disagree to one thing with madlalya's review..this moview cant be titled ''a revenge by a woman''. True that in the initial part of the movie, Chandrakala oaths to take a revenge on the teacher for the insult she felt in the village, but later she herself falls in love with the teacher seeing his unselfish character. Teacher also gets involved in her emotionally and physically, thus diverting from his character, the character which was worshipped by the villagers.
I read one more review by pvkamath who seems very obsessed with western movies. I appreciate his judgement about the end of the movie which he feels is either funny or touching. Yes true, only funny people will find the end funny.!!
