Bubble Rap. Review on Pine D'music SM-320

It's in the bath when I play with it mostly, It's small black but very robust and easily fits into the palm of my hand. It is of course one my competition prizes that I won. D'Music SM-320V is an excellent MP3 player with good quality sound which can't be distorted by moving or banging the player as there are no moving parts.

MP3(MPEG Layerlll) is one of the most popular audio formats that creates highly compressed files without any loss of audio quality. Anything from voice to music can be compressed to very small MP3 files and can be decoded and stored onto CD, HDD, Floppy Discs or even flash memory.

This one, which is made by Pine Technology, has a 32MB Built-in flash memory and is expandable upto 64MB using an external 32MB smartmedia card. The player comes with very high quality earphones, installation cd, parallel port cable, batteries and manual.

There is an equaliser button you use to switch between four modes, pop, classic, jazz, extra-bass. The Menu button gives access to memory status, serial number of the player, version number and the amount of files/memory left on the player. It has a portable file storage function,upload or download MP3 files, and also a 135 minute voice recording function. File transfer is not fast, about 30 seconds for a 3MB file, and is capable of playing up to 256kbs encoded tracks.

There is no software protection that limits you from copying back MP3 files back to your pc. There are several well known MP3 sites around , such as mp3.com, mp3now.com, Musicmatch.com. The price varies but expect to pay over £110.
