9th September 2012, great day! Got my spanking new Yellow Vespa. Paid full price of approx 75000 Rs. Prices reduced very soon thereafter. It gives an average of 60 Kms per 2 litres. Read again. 60 Kms per 2 litres. Initial claims were 60 kms per litre. Starting in the morning nearly always troublesome. Braking dangerous. Back wheels skid even with moderate back brake usage.
I wonder how safe it will be during the monsoons??Front storage space gets wet when washed. Seat too small and has no back rest for pillion rider. Falling off a distinct possibility.Foot rest space for rider can hardly accommodate shopping bags like Activa.
Everything is labelled as accessories, so you pay more for all add ons. (Rip off) Now I realise all about Italian promises. ALL SHOW AND NO GO!!!! Feel bad to sell it too, as I may be compromising another persons safety, however whoever buys it, will surely be told much more than this review, then he /she takes it with eyes wide open!! Piaggio now you can go into damage control, as you have damaged many buyers!,
5th JULY 2013: Tried to sell the bike but could not get a price of more than 51000/- after 3000kms.. That would mean a loss of approx 25000/-. However I would like to add that on the positive side I am getting at least 45 kms to the litre after the 3rd servicing, and I have done our Indian Jugaad and fixed a Bullet back rest (I strongly recommend this for safety purposes).
The starting problems seem to have been resolved in the servicing. Heard that soon Vespa will have the 150cc disc brake model for approx the same price I paid for a lesser model. Feel a bit like I've been ripped off.
