I am amazed how we Indians like to poke fingers at Hollywood movies. I mean, Bollywood is nothing short of a crapfest most of the time, with a few exceptions every year.
Anyways, Phone Booth is quite a different movie - production was just over a fortnight and primarily shot in one location.
Collin Farrell does a good job of playing a selfish, conceited, wife-cheating publicist. He has no qualms over doing anything wrong and knows that the morality police can't do anything to him. Well, not until he stepped into a phone booth which will turn to be his bad side's waterloo.
The plot is very straight forward. Someone (Kiefer Sutherland) has Collin pinned in the phone booth with a telescopic high-powered sniper rifle. Kiefer wants Collin to understand how his bad behaviour can effect a lot of people and acknowledge his misdemeanours with those he has behaved badly with. Otherwise he is going to die. Throw in the police who think Collin kills somebody outside the booth and the press have a field day.
This is an interesting story basically of the premise.
I will not comment on Schumacher's direction, primarily because I really don't know what more could have been done with the script. I liked what I saw.
It's a good movie - with some profanity that could have been avoided.
Watch it. It's worth the time.
