This is a movie about romance which lasts a lifetime. It is a very cute movie about the love between 2 people.
Mithun Chakraborty loves Dimple Kapadia but is unable to marry her due to the conditions laid down by her father. Unable to assert himself due to his meekness, he ultimately marries Rati Agnihotri. Rati knows about his affair with Dimple and teases him about it, while romancing with him. Rati Agnihotri likes Mithun a lot and he too likes her a lot. Then Rati Agnihotri expires and Mithun is left with a huge void in his life. At that time, DImple Kapadia re-enters into the life of Mithun Chakraborty.
What happens after that - whether Mithun gets Dimple back in his life or does he again loose her due to his meekness is the thing to see in this movie. This is a simple movie, highlighting the joys of everyday life, which lie in the small small emotions. This movie would connect to a lot of people. (This was probably the first movie in Hindi Cinema which had been released straight on DVD)
